NPL 2026

Manly won, Sydney United are leading 6-0 and Marconi and Spirit drew against each other, which all but confirms them all heading to the finals (and United getting the bye)

Sydney united deserve the 2nd place imo, they play better tbh. Marconi a very poor end to the season imo, basically from the Sydney united game onward.

Clear to see many of the players and coaches are there right now just to see out their contractual obligations, hearts are no longer in it. And that’s all the team had to begin with. Doesn’t bode well for the championship. As I say, hopefully the rebuild is as painless as possible. Geez Marconi play bad soccer..do they even like the game or ? Just kick it long boys, hit and hope. Not even a thought to get your head up and look to play a pass 9 times out of 10. So many unforced errors in this game too, players constantly stepping on the ball, struggling to get it under, miss kicks etc

Welcome back Brunswick Juventus to Division 1 State Football!
Best wishes to them. There are clearly passionate people at the club who still believe in it and want to try and do their best to right some of the previous wrongs.

You’d think next year their goal will be survival. Won’t be easy.

Have touched on it previously, it’s unfortunate that the cb smith refurb resulted in such a dramatic downsizing. If they had kept the bones of the old grand stand and just given the facilities an upgrade it could have been a good little ground

Marconi couldn’t handle the pressure when teams were able to counter their attacking play. United were similar in that regard though they had less firepower

They’re just a better team, they only lack a top striker.

I once had a coach who used to say “if you can’t get the ball, get his farken legs” in his strong Italo-Australian accent. The way Marconi have played under tsekenis’ management style very much reminds me of that
