NPL 2026

Did we? That's news to me.

Myself and many other faithfuls that attend each week love JA and back him no matter what. We know that we can't compete financially with the likes of South, Preston and Avondale.

JA is tactically miles ahead of what we've had previously and he has given us many memorable moments. I and many others would love him to stay. No one wants him gone. Let's squash out that rumour.
Mentioned to me by a close long time Bergers fan. So i'll take his word for it...

Western United dead so NPL team to go as well...

Might be a bidding war on Mark Leonard if he doesn't get signed to a league club
Club is under impression they will re-form next year in some way, hopefully from state 7 but I wouldn't be surprised with this FFV administration if they stay up they are allowed to remain.

A lot of rumours going around about Marconi's next Head Coach. Latest I've heard is Valerio Silvestro from Hurstville Zagreb.

the rumor mill and phone calls have already started at every club.

So many players have called our club regarding the Championship and wanting to play for us in 2027.

i'm sure you'd be in the same boat now that the Championship is all but yours.

Yugos dont have values. Shooting rubber bullets at 10 year old kids? You've come along way since the early 90s.
No need to breathe cevapi all over me, I am just sticking up for aussie values. Something this wreckless mob doesn't have.
Confiscating any flag that doesnt have the union jack or a boxing kangaroo would go a long way to stopping these shenanigans.

This is why quarter final scheduling for Australia Cup is now an absolute diabolical mess.

winner of Brunswick Juventus (Saturday August 15th & Friday August 21st) or Preston Lions (Sunday August 16th & Friday August 21st)*
South Melbourne (Saturday August 15th & Sunday August 23rd)
Lions FC (Friday August 14th & Saturday August 22nd)**
winner of North Sunshine Eagles (Monday August 17th & Saturday August 22nd) or Heidelberg United (Saturday August 15th & Sunday August 23rd)
SD Raiders (Saturday August 15th & Saturday August 22nd)
APIA Leichhardt Tigers or Sydney United (Saturday August 15th & Sunday August 23rd)

*NOTE: Preston Lions has a catch up game in NPL Victoria already booked for Wednesday August 26th against Melbourne City Youth at BT Connor Reserve.
**NOTE: Lions FC has Kappa Queensland Cup final already booked for Saturday August 22nd against Peninsula Power at Spencer Park.

when ties are scheduled to take place Tuesday August 18th, Wednesday August 19th, Saturday August 22nd, Sunday August 23rd.

Some npl fixtures will be moved to accomodate the cup ties. For eg if Preston v South is next wednesday night then Dandy City will have to shift its league fixture against Preston from Friday night to Saturday. We've already seen these scheduling changes in previous rounds.

What i dont get is the FA trying to rush everything so fast, whats the hurry? You could have these games played over 3 weeks instead of packed into a 5 day window.

For the quarter final between Preston/Brunswick Juve vs South Melbourne, Football Victoria will move either on of Preston/Brunswick Juve fixtures to the Saturday.

Just listened to this. Why are even these types still toying with the idea of artificially elevating certain teams to a league level based purely of geography and perceived catchment area. See my recent post on the topic etc.

Obviously it would be better if were existing clubs like Sutherland and manly who are solid suburban clubs in their own right. But why favour them over stronger existing clubs ..purely because of geographic location? Or because they don’t have strong ties to a specific ethnic group? (albeit manly’s foundation was vaguely connected to dutch migrants)

…just let the stongest clubs organically rise to the top ffs. If they’re a club like Sydney fc or Melbourne victory, fine. If they’re a traditional club like South Melbourne or Marconi that’s fine too…this country sometimes with its obsession of regulating every single facet of life
