Only problem is as we discovered when it went to a first past the post for a season or two you need something for teams to play for. In other leagues globally that either comes from promotion spots or continental qualification spots. Npl has neither. So you end up having vast majority of the league playing for pride second half of the season.

Imo finals would be more acceptable if it was qualification for a national finals Ala the aus championship format if they ever do away with the concept of foundation clubs. No state finals, just the top 4 or whatever qualify for the national finals

That makes sense. Once we have pro/rel from top down, then we need to get rid of it.

I think it's possible that the Sydney FC women's team would be based out of Ilinden Sports Centre whilst Leichhardt Oval is undergoing renovations but we won't know for sure until the Dub fixtures for season 2026-27 are released.

Sorry, that's not what I meant. The extra matches are great, I'm just wondering how the clubs accepted it when other federation clubs complain about anything over 22 matches, the volunteers can't handle it apparently, maybe it's something in the water?

Not sure to be honest. I know some clubs weren’t happy at the time but it ended up happening.

Nah, I think it was done because Graham Arnold wanted clubs to play at least 30 games which makes sense to me if we want to be a football nation.

correct it was all about getting the youth more games and more football in this country.

That also came with the rules you need certain number of players that are under 21s or something in your match day lineup.

Well Bentleigh, Western United and soon Heidelberg are all in a MUCH BETTER place after he left them so I would prefer the goes to Avondale than anywhere else
