High Volpato Voltage

It's not anymore. League One is changing too.
I know. I’ve acknowledged this.

A few years back, pre COVID, when Fox still televised Aus football and a lot of overseas leagues I used to laugh at the tactical naivety of League 1 teams. The pundits claimed one could only see proficient playing out from the back in EPL teams!

When Wrexham played in Aus, I was gobsmacked how a team being promoted to the Champ from League 1, was able to change the tempo of the game off the ball! In not many years the $ on offer in England has attracted a lot of Euro Continental coaches chasing coin. Fair play to England. They now have really strong second and third tiers as well as the EPL.

Volpato was impressive.

Unlike Iran and Bos who rely on fast ball carrying to beat defenders, Volpato can do it at slower speed in confined spaces. He tends to use side to side body feints, sole of the foot, Matthews’ Cuts and Standard Cuts and is comfortable in tighter spaces.

No end product yet but he's beating the man and cresting chances which is more than many others do. Leckie's stumbling for 13 years is finally over.
