General A Leagues thread (Men and Women) 2025/26 season

The website crashing seems a bit harsh
Wasnt there some global internet blackout this week?

I wish we could see the clubs and the apl budget mind u. Hard to know whether the pfa is realistic or not here
The PFA's A-League Men report isn't as damning as the ALW report but the players are still unhappy with the current governance structure and could well go on strike if an agreement can't be reached on the new collective bargaining agreement.

I still find it wild that athletes are negotiating salaries under a CBA... what the hell are player agents paid their 10% for?

Well, in defence of the agents, they would have to make at least one phone call and after all time is money. I have experience in this. I was for quite some time represented by an agent in my area of practice. In theory, the agent was meant to get me work, but what I found was that I sourced the work and phoned the agent to let them know. For that he charged 10% of the work that I had arranged by myself.

What line of work if u dont mind me asking

I reckon we should focus less on expensive mainstream marketing and do long term school focused marketing

every club has 24ish players in their squad right?
If every pair of players visited a school 10 times a year for a 1 hour session thats 120 visits in a year.
Concentrate them around 10 schools closest to the stadium who get 12 visits a year and form a real bond with the club. That's a core community of 10000 plus their families. In twenty years you have interacted with twice as many and built a long term relationship with the area

yep allegedly according to an episode of kossie and dom uncensored

it also sounds from the pfa article they want glamour marketing like the other codes. They need to get realistic tbh

My prediction is in 5 years time we'll find out PFA have done more damage to the game then anyone else
Sorry. no. Whoever came up with the KeepUp website & campaign has to be the winner. I will also take the people responsible for awarding the license to WU. And in third place is the dick that gave the game day security contract to one of his mates.

Most football leagues around the world have a PFA, unity is strength comrade.

The PFA would more than likely be setting the minimum wage for players, as well as any other workplace conditions. The agent will do the contract.
