For the first time in a while I would be happy for either to win. I think the Argies will get the chockies but I think Spain may have the descipline... I think this will be over in 90 mins and a 2-3 goal win either way...

Im starting to recognise the claim that Messi may have on the title... If he goes back to back and scores in both finals its pretty much concluded.

Either way the two GOATS are Argentinian... after that there is a massive gap down to the 3 Brazilians.

You fight on the pitch, you niggle and swear and abuse as much as you can get away with, its ON THE PITCH... When the whistle blows you shake hands (even if devastated) and move on... Jude did himself no favours here.

Don't think anything could every settle the GOAT debate. People will always have different opinions. He is one of the greats, that is undebatable.

I hope Spain win.

Probably part of it too - but given that England were on paper the 'home' team (Team A), then they were always going to be wearing the home kit. It's a bit hard to do England v Argentina in both home kits.

Why bring the political aspect though.
We’re in a Cup - it’s all about football really to judge only imo.
I really couldn’t give a toss of a countries politics I’m just happy to admire THE football their NT brings to view.

There is no more argument who the modern day GOAT is post Diego.
Messi got it with both hands without any fanfare and even if they don’t win this final he’s proved post Qatar once again.

What a game! First half was too cagey hard to watch actually but the second half was incredible!

Galant effort by England they showed alot of heart and determination throughout the World Cup but today it was too much to ask against this talented Argentinian team.

I honestly dont know who is going to win the final now, initially I thought Spain was a step above but Argentina's second half showed why they can be world champions again either way its going to be potentially an epic final.
 
If Messi wins the final he is going to retire immediately from football, he might stay on to try and get to 1000 goals like Cristiano (he's currently on 919 career goals) but I feel winning the final will end it on a euphoric high for him.

For me he was goat when he won 2022 but if he wins 2026 he will immortalised as the goat for forever.

I'm sick of this GOAT debate crap. Messi and Ronaldo are both amazing players. I feel like Ronaldo gets given more shit, but that man has worked hard to get to where he has got to. Let's be honest, Portugal have always been a lesser quality side, so they were never really expected to win major tournaments. Why does one have to better than the other. Just admire both of them for being the best of their generation and move on. Like one more than the other if you want, but why do people feel like they constantly need to lessen one.

Also, this fantasy with trying to get Messi trophies is stupid. It's a team sport. People only want Argentina to win because of Messi, not because they deserve it or anything like that, but just because they want Messi to win it. It's akin to when people donated to Kylie Jenner so she could become the first teen billionaire, or when people sat outside Time Square begging for cake from Taylor Swifts wedding. Stop idolising these people.
 
So Ive resigned to the fact that football is never coming home :censored: that was the worst bottle job ever 1-0 up and he goes full on Southgate
that decision to defend a lead for nearly 30mins was just plain stupid and Argentina battered us.
They 100% deserved to win that game they were simply better than England and Messi just pulling the strings ran the show when needed
Thats all on Tuchel for me and tells you how pragmatic he really is - this is the guy that took a very average Chelsea team to a champions league final win playing the same pragmatic boring way and we give him the England job based largely off that success and thinking he was a step up from southgate.
He left all the "ballers" at home and ended up putting square pegs in round holes shuffling the pack to get through this campaign and it nearly worked but the trouble is England have always been about "moments" in a game a Kane penalty a Bellingham rabbit out of the hat but we never play the type of football needed to win a world cup like Spain, France, Argentina they know how to control the game and get over the line but we had Tuchel and he bottled it on the big stage and quite honestly he should go now - England need a manager like Pep or a Klopp someone who is brave to go for the kill playing attacking football without trying to hang on for our lives when we go 1-0 up sadly its another failed campaign to me and lessons have not been learnt here with his appointment.
Final prediction Spain 2 Argentina 1 / France 4 England 1 (Tuchel will play all out to win this game but the French attack will be too good)
