Do you feel with your eyes? The ball clearly nicked the head and the sensor picked it up too.

You can clearly see it didnt touch, if you can show me the ball changing trajectory, movement, or spin ill believe ya.

I'll wait....

The Argentina thugs going after middle and upper class English fans who can actually afford the tournament? Both sets of fans aren't the typical type.

Didnt think the words English and class could be said in the same sentence.

While not entirely visible with only 2 camera angles we have, the sensor and the player himself admitting be felt something is evidence enough.

It's not a breach of the laws but the Croatian player lingering so far offside to then have the advantage could be debated.

I personally would like no offsides in the final third and then we won't have these issues.

So its not clear and obvious? Play on, goal.

And your telling me the Portuguese defender didnt deliberately play at the ball lol.

Dont have sensors in the ball, or VAR changing decisions for a sneeze. That's the issue.

It is clear and obvious because it was headed onwards backed up by evidence and admission and the player was offside.

Yet if VAR benefits people with just decisions then they say it's so wonderful and prevents injustice.

I've seen a lot of comments about the ball not hitting the wire. People saying honestly they can't see it themselves. The sensor didn't pick it up.

People who complain about technology will never be happy with our without it. A massive cultural change is needed where refs are allowed to judge at face value and broadcasters and pundits just shut the hell up about incorrect calls that are even somewhat obvious.

The reason we have technology is because of what you want to go back to. Refs and face value do not exist in the same sentence, on the whole.

Football supporters are just looking at things to moan about. Have a good at the refs, then the tech. The players also just have to get on with playing the game. This claiming culture and constant arguing is embarrassing and other sports have it right without losing any passion.

If Deschamps as the "chess grandmaster," then Argentina under Lionel Scaloni has become the master of tournament endurance.

If they were to meet, it would be the ultimate clash of ideologies with the clinical efficiency of the French collective versus the Irrational confidence of a team that simply refuses to let their icon bow out quietly.

My England??

Probably not but under Tuchel England has shown remarkable grit but it would still be a remarkable feat for us to get to the finale!!

But if they did coming up against France would be an England side that has consistently found ways to win high-pressure, physical encounters would provide a quiet difficult test for France.
More or less agree with that. I don't actually see France as a "creative" team although it is stacked with creative players. So I also see a possible final between the two as a clash between a French side stacked with prodigious talent within a strict tactical framework vs Argentina who's strategic approach is more a creative ethos, driven by the discipline of the individuals.

Yep....And a France-Argentina final would be absolute footballing cinema.....

French collective discipline and firepower versus Argentine heart, experience, and that refusal to die.

One side trying to control the game like a chess grandmaster, the other turning it into a street fight fueled by complete and utter belief. I'd watch that 10 times over.

But being English I hope it's us, who under Tuchel have shown real grit and found ways to win ugly, win high-pressure battles, which is what we're gonna get on Thursday morning!!

Hypothetically, England will need everything to click perfectly against Argentina and again against France!!

RE the Embolo sending off - earlier in the match Paredes was yellowed for coming from behind with a sneaky and intentional wack on Embolo's achilles. Then Embolo, I assume in an act of revenge took out Paredes from behind. He was unsubtle, he got caught, he got a yellow. Completely consistent. And then the dive with Paredes closing in on him - he gets rewarded with a second yellow.

What really happened here is that Paredes got in Embolo's head. It reminded me of Simeone's job on Beckham in the 98 WC leading to his sending off. Embolo lost control on both counts and Paredes was man of the match in my opinion. Masterful psychologically and tactically.

From there Argentina were happy to take their time even if it went to extra time. They knew the Swiss would run out of legs. They gradually overloaded the attacking line with subs until they cracked. Text-book. They just needed to guard against any counter.

Having watched the incident again for Norway's disallowed goal, yes Haaland forcefully pushes the defender but its the defender uses his arms and hands against Haaland's body to impede Haaland. The defender does this twice and that's when Haaland reacts.

Defenders blocking and interfering illegally in the box prior to dead ball delivery is a blight and needs to be stamped out. Fcuk Arteta and his Arsenal haramball who made that acceptable.
