Excellent to see Embolo sent off for simulation. Wouldn't happen to Argentina though.

I am not too sure on how it works, yet I would be fuming if I was Paraguay FA and nothing is done about this.

Apparently the rule is for clear argumentative or abusive looking speech. Did it appear that way?

I personally believe the World Cup needs England to win it.

We’re in an era where club football is increasingly taking precedence over international football. England, as the biggest football market and home to the world’s most lucrative domestic league, is uniquely placed to give the international game a much-needed shot in the arm. An England triumph would reignite national pride and remind fans why the World Cup matters. Just as importantly, rival fans would spend the next four years desperate to knock them off their perch, making the build-up to the next tournament even more compelling. I just wish the World Cup was still 32 teams.
You're my Wonderwall

The fact that England hasn't hosted a world cup since 1966 is a joke. It's been awarded corruptly for over 2 decades.

It's correct that the number of club games is taking a toll on players and it's exhausting.
And yet they want to expand the Club World Cup. FIFPRO must be pretty toothless:
What FIFPRO Does
Like the PFA, FIFPRO advocates for players on an international scale:
  • Player Welfare: They fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and proper medical care.
  • Match Schedules: They negotiate with FIFA and other governing bodies to protect players from playing too many games in a year.

The Haaland foul was so blatant. Two hands on a set play. If the ref sees less they always blow a foul.
It will be interesting to see if the rugby scrums in the penalty box in European club football at corners and free kicks will be clampeed down on in the coming season. This World Cup has shown it's possible to police it to a fair degree. Have to assume this was a FIFA directive? Hopefully UEFA can follow suit

As infangulo stated, "If you do not have something to hide, you don't hide your mouth when you say something. That's it, as simple as that."

Mouth covered- Yes

So according to infangulo red card should apply.

No way that's a second yellow card, how many times we see fouls not given for a dive and its play on.
It was a dive worthy of the great dive artist Klinsmann. Blatant and undeniable. Feel sorry for Embola - he was being fouled all day and maybe thought this is the only way I can get justice. But simulation is a yellow card offence and should always be enforced when the evidence is clear.

Switzerland were winning that game until the brain fade from Embolo

I don't think Argentina have the quality to win. France and Spain are far better teams.

Still waiting on the other angle btw on that Macallister challenge.
Argies no diff in Qatar Zim.
They never look as polished but it’s their fight determination mever say die attitude mixed with moments of bright counter football towards goal then there they have 2/3 quality finishers if when there’s 2nd balls.
Just another style unlike the euro teams.
Swiss were winning the ground or let’s say rhythm but once at 10 was like a run away train heading for disaster.

Only because they have the street smarts to disguise a dive

"Many sports historians and football analysts point to FIFA's 1998 enforcement banning the tackle from behind as a key moment in altering how the traditional South American game was played. Prior to the shift, Argentine football was historically celebrated for its uncompromising, tough-tackling, and rugged defensive style. [1, 2]
When the tackle from behind became a direct red card offense, many observers noted that Argentine defenders struggled to adapt to the stricter interpretation of the rules. The adjustment is frequently argued to have disrupted their natural tactical rhythm. Combined with broader shifts in global football tactics, this adaptation period is often cited as a contributing factor to the team experiencing a lean spell in major international tournaments."

I read somewhere that the main adaptation the Argies made after the rule change was to become more cunning and devious in their fouling

Nothing when it’s England apparently. Surely those blowing up about the Egypt game will be just as filthy about this
Hits a cable, ball sensor had no spike. Hits a players strand of hair (croatia disallowed goal vs Portugal) the ball spiked.

I guess the ball only spikes when fifa tells it too.

Who can take these cunts seriously.

The Argentina thugs going after middle and upper class English fans who can actually afford the tournament? Both sets of fans aren't the typical type.
