Statistically, with the exception of the AFC and CONCACAF (who have underperformed), that would be about right if you rolled a dice before the tournament based on qualifications spots - UEFA: 16 spots. CAF: 9. AFC: 8. CONMEBOL: 6. CONCACAF: 6 (including hosts USA, Mexico and Canada).

It's a lot more complicated than that so I'm not going to explain the intricacies of colonialism, citizenship and FIFA eligibility rules. I suspect you know all about that because I recall a certain Brazilian Eduardo"vic" who played for Croatia.

If you exclude former Yugoslav states, there have been 39 Croat internationals who weren't born in Croatia and 6 outside of Europe altogether. At least two with no Croatian ancestry at all.

Look at it with the full context. There were two contacts. The first was when the ball was actually won. The second was the photo in that post. I look at it from the context of whether it would have been a pen on review. It would have been close but I'm not sure.

Honestly, I was watching and 10 minutes in thought, we (Argentina) are going to lose this. Nobody looked right including Messi. Fernandez was continually losing the ball, De Paul's passing was atrocious. I think they were pretty much all gassed from the Cabo Verde match.

Still, that has to be one of the most insane turn-arounds I have seen at a WC.

He get's the ball, but Salah regains it straight after, so it's a new phase. He then goes for a 2nd tackle and gets the foot.

If the egypt foul is called, then surely the same applies here. The fact that there has been a contentious call in pretty much all of Argentinas games and those calls have all gone for Argentina is quite damning.

Eduardo may have been a citizen of Croatia, but is not Ethnically Croatian, nor will he ever be. What the HNS do and select is out of our control

those 39 Croat internationals are all Ethnically Croatian.

Salah played for it, the ball was already behind him. I'm not saying it was the right call, I'm just saying that it is more complicated than it is being made out. He might have got that call had the Egyptian team not been feigning injury and fouls for the entire tournament.

Salah definitely doesn't regain the ball haha it's behind him. Defender wins the ball, has eyes only for the ball and Salah trips on his foot as he puts it down. All for a good FIFA corruption conspiracy but there's no way that's a penalty. The foul as well before the Egypt goal, I mean, he steps on his foot, is it harsh? Maybe? Did he step on his foot, yes.

Hahah, tripped over him? Come on now. There is clear movement towards Salah and he makes contact with the player. The Argentina player has his foot on top of Salah's. Its 'lear in the picture. That prevents him from moving his foot naturally. The amount of ways people have been going out to defend Argentina this tournament is insane.

Just because it happens in multiple games and hasn't been called, doesn't mean this one shouldn't have been called. It was way more clear and obvious and should have been called. Simple.

Argentina have gotten away with so much this cup, and this game is more of that.

I'm the same, I too would love Argies out (not Messi, he's just on another planet, even at 39 years old).
Both calls were correct & VAR got it right.
