Had a good look at Dutch v Japan.

Had a foot in both camps.

Dutch/KNVB influence on Aus football has been paramount. No way would Aus have qualified for repeated WCs without their influence.

Japan are the top Asian side, likely to go far in a WC.

Noticed Japan didn’t try and Squeeze Dutch like they did against Aus. Both teams wre fairly cautious.

Dutch played 4-3-3 with the ball, 5-4-1 without it. Both teams had roughly equal technique.

Japan had a few nippier and nimble players, as opposed to too much height in Dutch team, like many other UEFA teams. They still had a few shorter, nimble players though.

The bigger World Cup has more modest UEFA teams playing.

Some mistakenly think UEFA in its entirety is synonymous with powerhouse.

Scotland, Czech Rep, are no giants.

Belgium always seem to struggle outside UEFA countries.

Italy is a past giant, with a superb domestic league, who’ve failed to qualify for 3 successive WCs.

I think they thought it was a North American vacation and the world cup is in their calendar for next year. Refreshing UEFA aren't doing well as yet.

It's interesting how late the teams got in compared to some other nations so slight adjustments to be made. Might have little to do with it though.

Europe and South America are soo far behind Asia its truly astounding. A European team will be lucky to maike the round of 16 this year.... All the best Dutch pundits say so...
