Sign Up Now!To me the best teams so far are France and Spain, another level. The way Spain keep & retrieve the ball is next level.
That because Argies will come unstuck when they play Soccoeroos in next round. Herrington will keep Messi quiet, no Messi, no Argies.Spain were almost flawless. Beautiful stuff.
But I am enjoying Argentina being completely ignored as if they aren't defending champions and they didn't cruise to the knockouts in 2nd gear.
The banana peel effect will be awaiting Argentina. Hopefully it is against Cape Verde. Australia has to beat Al Ahly, plain and simple. That because Argies will come unstuck when they play Soccoeroos in next round. Herrington will keep Messi quiet, no Messi, no Argies.
I think that lack of consideration of intent is where it has gotten really frustrating. Essentially what occurred was a defender went to make a routine clearance and an attacker, who he wasn’t even looking at, placed his leg in a position between the ball and the defenders ‘swing of the foot’ that was already in motion. There doesn’t have to be intent. It just needs to be reckless and dangerous, and Balogun’s action was both. It’s a red every day of the week.
LOLIt was as clear a red as you could ever see. He nearly snapped the guy’s ankle in half with his studs. Since when is that kind of contact not reckless and dangerous?
Yeah, but you could interpret the contact as reckless and/or dangerous especially with it's potential to injure. Reds get given all the time that aren't necessarily intentional. Intentional is not a pre-requisite for a red in the rule book.LOL
was it intentional or an accident of 'coming together'?
its football, its a contact sport.

Maybe, and maybe it shows a double standard in the Messi incident, but that wasn't your argument. You were arguing it wasn't a red.Reds are given all the time, but that's because the game has gone soft.
