Well. That got a reaction.
We've loved reading every single comment, the good, the bad, and the "can't afford an antenna?" ones.
Here's the honest truth about why there's no telly at Invergordon Bar and it's got nothing to do with the cost of a screen.
When we opened this place, we made a deliberate decision. No TVs. Not because we couldn't, but because we didn't want to.
There are plenty of brilliant bars in Melbourne that will be showing the Scotland games on big screens, and we genuinely mean that, go to them if that's what you're after. No hard feelings.
What we set out to build was something a little different. A bar where you actually talk to the person next to you. Where you make a friend, argue about something that doesn't matter, and leave having had a proper night. We reckon Melbourne has enough bars where everyone stares at a wall.
Putting a TV up for the World Cup would've meant putting a TV up. Permanently. And that's not who we are.
We get that some people are disappointed, especially for a moment as rare as Scotland at a World Cup. We've thought about that too, more than you might expect. But we have to back the bar we set out to build.
For those who get it, and there are plenty of you, we'll see you on 14 June. Pints ready, sound system cranked up (and yes, just to be clear, the game will be played loud and proud through our speakers, not through that beautiful old wireless in the photo

).
For everyone else, we genuinely hope you find a great spot to watch it.
