Expansion Thread 🪜

correct - thats a good ? mark.
Putting myself in CEO position.
I'd like some work on "local" possibility Investor targets....
Lets first have a open discussion with our board members - everyone has a contact or 3 for some leads......

Next,
Lets set up a open invitation to all 178B incl Gina for a Football Investment opportunity forum at HQ - host them for 2days.
Heck we've squandered millions and paid out members for jack shit what’s a few million hosting a
Support Oz Football Growth/Expansion Vision/Seminar.
Surely you could convince a couple of adventurers with a decent business plan/vision even if not into sokkah - its all in the long plan and growth.
Broadcast business plan revenue, marketing estimates, utilising current AL (once unbundled) and viable NPL Clubs to make a Pro 1 and 2 Divs.
IF it has to be more East Coast focussed for a term or 2 so be it, have phase 2 Other State Club entrys when to enter next stage of expansion.
Lets roll the dice see where this lands.
Don’t think it’d make a difference TBH - besides, if Gina wanted to get involved in sokkah she’d be more likely to do so w/an overseas club rather than an šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗ one.

Do we really want another Clive Palmer though?

Have said before, I know I’m extremely biased and I’ll probably cop for saying so it but I think South Melbourne and Marconi would have been low hanging fruit as a starting point re extending an olive branch to old soccer. Direct swap out for western and MacArthur. Two most successful clubs from the nsl era, produced the most Socceroos. Probably the 2 most financially sound, both have ready made suitable facilities. Relatively low risk in terms of crowd issues/bad publicity etc etc Then potentially open to more down the line if they showed themselves willing and able.

Could argue Preston or Sydney United potentially based on passionate support alone but they probably don’t tick those other boxes.

Thats if you wanted to go that route which I’m sure many would debate
Agree 100%.
I enjoyed supporting Brisbane Roar from a football watching perspective. But as ā€˜a club’ it was non existent and still is. No soul.
At this stage I’d prefer the Bakries just leave and we start again. This little tin pot effnik club could be a good place to start.

There is no doubt that for the most part the A League franchises have failed dismally at creating themselves as football clubs. They appear not to have thought it mattered. Well, it mattered a lot.

if the A League has been defined by one quality, it has been the utter lack of vision at every level.

Thats magnificent..... would easily see myself propped up at the bar every second week if I ever move to Brisbane...

Isn’t it to do with the way things played out when they were originally awarded license for the a league and then the ensuing breakaway of Brisbane roar
Not entirely sure what happened, but I think they initially invested a fair chunk of cash (at least half a million) and somehow got dudded by the Roar. Then a couple of years ago they pulled out of nominating for the second tier national league, because they didn’t want the same thing to happen.

The Lion itself is majestic I will say that. Can you imagine how many wogs would kill to have that bad boy sitting triumphantly somewhere at the entrance to their suburban McMansion. How jealous it would make the relatives when they come to visit

All around Reservoir there are little Italian concreters staring wistfully into the morning sky dreaming of this majesty. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
