Correct, they are about making money, like we all are, just more ruthless.
Exaclty right, thus why people shouldn't really be surprised that the APL clubs DON'T wanna spend money on women's teams and youth squads..... whereas the 99% of football clubs in Australia (those you so disparagingly call small and worthless) DON'T see it as an obligation or a burden, they see it as the REASON for existing.

Over 1000+ football clubs in this country are members owned, not for profit football clubs that spend every single extra dollar they make on FOOTBALL... Foreign owned corporations participating in the APL is NOT football... it just looks like it.
You didn't answer my question, who does care for football in this country, it's all agenda driven & your club is a classical case of it.
You yourself has said club first, you don't care about football in this country nor does your club if it affects them.

Apart from Libelous, who said they don’t want to spend money on the women and youths. Show me the source please.

What are you talking about mate? Of course our club cares about our club first and formost... We have 500 odd players we have to care for accross every program or however many there are... there are hundreds of other clubs all around the country that are doing exactly the same thing every weekend.... Absolutely it is AGENDA driven, our Agenda has ALWAYS been about football... THATS the point.

To try and explain it a bit better, my club is absolutely NO differnt to Nunawading FC or Brisbane City, or MetroStars in Adalide etc etc etc... or even Weston bears or MAgpies and Crusaders.... maybe better supported, but we are ALL about the football and there is a level of respect AND footballing rivalry between us all.

The APL franchises are totally different thing all together, serving a different reason for being... there is nothing wrong with that , AS Sutho points out (and you have said also before) , thats what Liverpool has become too... The Aleague clubs started as such and good luck to them, but dont claim that they care about football... football is just a means to an end.

Matey why was the NYL stopped?

NYL was stopped during COVID. Clubs still have youth teams who play in the various NP Leagues around the country in which they will learn more playing against men than each other, nothing new around the world. Auckland women ? Shouldn’t be in it.

So why do you have issues about A-League clubs looking after themselves?

SFC has a team in the NPL, they have academies all the way down the ages, they work with the local association that I belong to. 6 Manly players represented SFC against Wrexham, it was all over the social media of my association. Likewise with the women's team.

I Don't have ANY issue with Aleague franchsies looking out for themselves matey, Ive said so many many times on here.. I expect them too, they have shareholders and owners to report too. I get it... They DO indeed have academies that have shoehorned into the football system, whether that is for the "good of football" or for their own warehousing of players and profiit generation Ill let you decide.

Hahahah Sure sure,

Poor Greeie was trying to flog it off as a deal to Paramount and it didnt fly ... so stuff it lets just piggeyback on the sate feds shall we? It will be cheaper.

Regardless of what format it takes in the future, O'Rourke also confirmed that the APL was exploring avenues to packaging the Y-League as part of a potential broadcasting or streaming deal.

Not only would such a move give fans a chance to watch their generation next in action, but it would also provide a new shop window for prospects seeking to attract the attention of foreign -- or even local, with the introduction of a domestic transfer system -- clubs.

"We're definitely considering all the content we have being available through our future media platforms on all four leagues we have," the APL commissioner said. "Including to work with Football Australia to see if we can bundle up with the FFA Cup."

I don't know what you are ll getting your panties in a bunch over..

is it coming as a surprise to you that clubs like Real Madrid, Juve, Manchester City, Liverpool, and on and on care more about their profitability than anything football related?

Really?

Do you NOT think that modern overseas football clubs are more concerned with buying the bests players, so that they can win the most trophies, so they can release 7-8 different playing kits every season, so their club can make the most money for their shareholders???

Im actually surprised...

Since football went professional, it has always been that way at the top end of town.

Wonder if I’ll get a thumbs up from your little cheerleader 🤣🤣🤣

I think its because the franchsies really DON'T care about what is best for football in Australia.. Strange because everyone keeps telling me that they DO

So A-League franchsies not doing anything different to all other top tier countries around the world.
It just came across as a criticism of the franchsies in your original note.
