I believe most A League clubs are baulking at running ALW teams, it seems to be a problem with the Mariners getting investor buy in.Auckland womens team delayed entry to 2027/2028 season.

You telling me the cashed up City, MV, fuc Syd, "BiG BOY" (as some call them) PROFESSIONAL franchises in conjunction with the all powerful APL cant fund a limited womens league?I believe most A League clubs are baulking at running ALW teams, it seems to be a problem with the Mariners getting investor buy in.
I’m not saying they can’t afford it, they just don’t want to contribute to the women’s game. You telling me the cashed up City, MV, fuc Syd, "BiG BOY" (as some call them) PROFESSIONAL franchises in conjunction with the all powerful APL cant fund a limited womens league?
Say it aint so......
Then they should come out and say it and explain why!I’m not saying they can’t afford it, they just don’t want to contribute to the women’s game.
So are nyl and acadmies. Im guessing the academies required a rule to force clubs to have them? The ALW teams are unwanted baggage, the FA should run the comp and let the APL deal with the men's game. The sponsors don't want it and neither does FTA TV as the games shown have never rated at all compare to ALFW, Netball and WNRL. They cant draw crowds yet they want equal pay? So woke its broke and the sooner the APL drops them the better.
The nyl and academies don't ask for equal pay, there not shown on TV either. Look Im all for the women's game so long as it can fend for itself. So are nyl and acadmies. Im guessing the academies required a rule to force clubs to have them?
I am not a fan of any women’s sport, but the ALW are NOT asking for equal pay and they do get good crowds in the circumstances. The nyl and academies don't ask for equal pay, there not shown on TV either. Look Im all for the women's game so long as it can fend for itself.
IIRC when the ABC telecasted a weekly women's football game, it rated quite decently. I don't know why the ABC stopped broadcasting it but maybe that ought to be an option. The ALW teams are unwanted baggage, the FA should run the comp and let the APL deal with the men's game. I highly doubt that they would pay much, if anything , for the broadcast rights.IIRC when the ABC telecasted a weekly women's football game, it rated quite decently. I don't know why the ABC stopped broadcasting it but maybe that ought to be an option.
I think its because the franchsies really DON'T care about what is best for football in Australia.. Strange because everyone keeps telling me that they DO?Then they should come out and say it and explain why!
I don't know about that, women's football is still a hot ticket in this country. The Matilda's look like their attendances will go above the men's national team sooner rather than later. The government also love them.I highly doubt that they would pay much, if anything , for the broadcast rights.
Tell me who does care about what's best for Football in this country? Everyone is agenda driven.I think its because the franchsies really DON'T care about what is best for football in Australia.. Strange because everyone keeps telling me that they DO?
Over 1000+ football clubs in this country are members owned, not for profit football clubs that spend every single extra dollar they make on FOOTBALL... Foreign owned corporations participating in the APL is NOT football... it just looks like it.Tell me who does care about what's best for Football in this country? Everyone is agenda driven.
So the Fenway mob who own Liverpool are no different to the foreign mobs who own A league teams, therefore it is not football in the UK either. And no, it is not different.Over 1000+ football clubs in this country are members owned, not for profit football clubs that spend every single extra dollar they make on FOOTBALL... Do you think the Fenway mob give a shit about football in the UK or anywhere around the world? Seriously? Or their players, or any club in the EPL or lower leagues? Or the English national team? ... I don't.So the Fenway mob who own Liverpool are no different to the foreign mobs who own A league teams, therefore it is not football in the UK either. And no, it is not different.
Yet, you still support them.Do you think the Fenway mob give a shit about football in the UK or anywhere around the world? Seriously? Or their players, or any club in the EPL or lower leagues? Or the English national team? ... I don't.
Ah I see where you are coming from now... No mate , I watch them, they are my team in the English football system and have been for decades. I celebrate their wins and am saddened by their losses, just like my favourite character in a TV show or movie.... its entertainment... that what most of the big leagues around Europe have become now, just entertainment...Yet, you still support them.
Correct, they are about making money, like we all are, just more ruthless.Ah I see where you are coming from now... Nothing wrong with that OR the same thing in the A league btw, Im sure it entertains many ... but don't tell me they care about the actual sport of football outside of using it as vessel to produce a "product" and manipulate a target consumer market.. Fenway cares more about selling Salah jerseys in Hong Kong and China than it does about Melwood or Kirkby producing the next bunch of England players....
