West Ham drew 2-2 away in the opening round of soccer against another demoted team and the fans want to sack the coach.

When they started sacking coaches they were a mid-table EPL team, now after 2-3 coaches per season, they are fightng for promotation, with a lot of squad changes and the fan's patience lasted 1 game.

Is this coach the right guy? Perhaps not, but he is a coach with a lot of experience at higher levels.

Is he better than the next coach? Probably.

If a club sacks a coach and they don't get a better coach, they usually do worse. Seems like around 20% of new coaches are a better coach.

Fans just relish the opportunity to whinge about a different guy.

Cirro is the best coach the Dogs have had since Gus.

The Dogs coaches I rate are Clift, Glossop, Ryan, Gus and Cirro.

Anderson and Folkes won comps, Anderson almost made the rated list. Folkes was a great guy, a great player, a good conditioner, and an average coach. Des not much better than Folkes.

I rate Anderson more highly at the Storm, but he stole a lot of players and ideas from tne Dogs. For a long time the Dogs culture lived on better at the Storm.

We had 7 coaches 2011 to 2022 and the results show. With the benefit of hindsight, Moore deserved a chance to make my list.

No surpise that the club was built in the Clift, Glossop, Ryan, Gus era, and a lot of that started with Clift.

Cirro is similar to Clift, systematic and organised, with a club wide view. Smart, tactical and innovative.

Hasler started wirh the team Moore built, Moore inherited a mess, Cirro inherited as mess. Sometimes mess to premiership is a minimum of 5 years.

Gus has played some role in the success at the Panthers and Warriors. Cleary and Webster a bigger role, but Gus set up the pathways.

After thinking it over.

I now perfer Sua replacing Rinakama.

O'Sillivan replacing Xerri on the bench and Critter starting at 6.

O'Sullivan would come on at lock or 6 at some stage.

We need impact off the bench O'Sullivan can help provide it and we can give him a shot at 6.

Criitter just gives Kiks early ball and backs him up. Burto or O'Sullivan could do that.

When playing with Presto or Curran, Critter plays square. O'Sullivian can do that.

Critter also tidies up a lot of things in the left edge defence, I doubt that O'Sullivan will be as good at that.

Our right edge defence has been unusally shaky the last few games, we might need to move Critter to right centre if the defence needs fixing.

O'Sullivan definately deserves some game time at 6, he doesn't necessarily deserve 80 minutes.

O'Sullivan can lift the energy levels off the bench, and we need that.

Connor V the fullback we signed form Newcastle played U18s SOO with Woods and has played a couple of NRL games.

We had 36 names in the NRL squad + development this season, we have signed Connor, Lussick and McLean. IMO 4 are leaving.

We can promote 1 more player and I would promote Cocherane, or perhaps Konz (lock).

I am hoping that Hughes, Todd, Turpin, Hopoi, and Dkyes all stay.

Our fullback options would be Tracey, Connor V, Dykes, Cocherane.

Half back- Galvin, Woods, Conti, SOS.

5/8 - Critter, Woods, Dykes, Burto

Hooker - Hayward, Lussick, Turpin, Gordon, Young

It will not help us this year, but next year we have more spine options.

A lot of these players were at the club this year, but were not fit or ready for NRL.

Some of the players listed as hoping to keep might be leaving.

Most likely candidate is Turpin. If he goes, we can promote Cocherane and Konz.

If more players are leaving, we will sign more, but I am not expecting a lot of signings.

I am not overly confident of making the 8 this year, we may have lost one too many games rounds 4-11.

I understand why we lost against Roosters and Souths, there were easier wins to be had rounds 4-11.

Of course I am hoping to make the 8, but the Panthers game might be difficult.

I don't think the club has gone backwards, I expect the Dogs and Storm to bounce back next season. Raiders and Broncos might continue their slide.

We know a lot about what we need to do differently next year.

Tuesday teamlist doesn't mean much.

All we learned is, Jethro is out.

O'Sullivan might play and might even start.

IMO Xerri and AJ are the guys most likely to miss out.

O'Sullivan is worth trying, I don't expect him to be the miracle that saves our season.

We are up against Joey O'Neil in the halves against the Dragons in reserve grade. Captain of a Flegg GF winning side at the Dogs.

We started playing him at hooker in reserve grade to make room for Woods. He moved to the Dragons for a shot at NRL.

With Woods being injured this season he would have been more of a chance at the Dogs.

The Dragons have signed a stack of halves, I am not liking his chances there.

He would be a good signing for Perth, and is likely to be a chance of playing NRL there.

Hopoi may be going to Canberra, if we had the chance I would bring Joey home more of a half/14 than a starting hooker. Very good kicking game, good passing game, competitor.

He is good enough for NRL.
 
Really got to try to win this game at least win it get it out of the way and then concentrate hard on the Panthers. Panthers may rest players they may not risk injuries .
I would like to see O'Sullivan coming on sometime it might mix our game a bit otherwise we may start to look too predictable especially the last two weeks the Rorters and South defence were on us .
 
IMO we are looking at 2 hard games and the Broncos game vould be anything from easy to hard.

Panthers playing well against the Storm, hut we will worry about the Dragons first.

I am not sure about Xerri at right centre, if we plays we need a good performance from him.
 
IMO these last 3 games are an opportunity for the team and coach to answer our critics.

And we need to answer our critcs.

Our performances against the top 3 sides Penrith, Warriors and Roosters have been good so far this season.

We need to beat the Dragons to have a good shot at beat Penrith.

The Dragons will be hard, the Panthers will be much harder.

3 wins will not guarantee we make the semis, but it is our best shot.

3 wins should silence the critics.

If Woods and Thompson start in round 1, we would be in the 8.

Interesting news, Ogre is taking over as NRLW coach.

Wiliame taking over pathways.

This is to free up Jacko to join the NRL coaching staff.

Wiliame might also coach flegg.

We will need a couple of new lower grade coaches. Perhaps an opportunity for ex-players.

Everyone agrees SOS will be a great coach.

Could SOS coach Harold Matts and play reserve grade, IMO it is possible but salary cap would mean no payments for coaching,

Conti is managed by Anasta and he is a "genuine half" even more of a "genuine half" than Woods.

At times this season Conti was close to ready for NRL.

When saying that the Dogs need a "genuine half" Anasta has an agenda.

Throwing a young half like Conti into NRL before he is ready would backfire.

Gavin, Hayward and Rinakama are far more ready, and their critics including many our our fans, are also more than ready.

If we throw a young guy in too early, we could destroy his confidence and his career.

AJ, Underhill and Readon debutted this season and handled it well.

Rinakama and Sua progressed well.

We have a lot of young guys who are just about ready. Spinks, Conti, Dykes, Cocherane and a few others.

Hopefully Woods, Todd and Hughes can get over their injuries.

Even when he played for us, I never liked Anasta.

Considering his son is playing for the club in the lower grades Ennis also likes to put the boot in. But he did prasie Hayward.

No prizes for guessing which position Ennis jnr plays.

Jammer, Mase and Grub are always positive and constructive, YouTube is way better than Fox Sports these days.
 
Does Canberra over take us if they win ? Hopefully Gronks continue that poor form against us . I think the season was over many weeks ago for us somehow we are still in the fight this far is a Miracle. We beat the Dragons dream continues on for another week.
I was thinking before the Panthers may rest players against us but now watching them on Thursday night they might go all out to finish our season as they probably want that minor premiership.
 
Broncs beat the Faiders, but they have the bye next week.

We need to keep winning to be a chance.

I don't expect the Panthers to rest players.

So far this round is like the start if the year 6-agains, penalties, sin bins, and some bizare decisions.

I would rather have our season ended by a better team than ended by a ref. I think the favouite for the game seems to be getting fewer calls.

If we don't make the 8, i am not overly disappointed ot unhappy. We just need to start better next season.

Will Lachlan Galvin ever be given the freedom to run and control the game like Nathan Cleary or Jonathan Thurston? It seems like most halves these days try to fit a mould playing to script rather then having a feel for the game and decisively playing their own brand of footy!

He is a bit young, it is far too early to judge how good a player he will be.

I see him more as a lock, a very skillful 80 minute lock.

Woods/Conti can steer a team around.

Teaupa has brilliant execution and great judgement.

Galvin/Woods/Teaupa all have attributes I haven't seen in many young players of that age. Conti will be an above average NRL halfback

Galvin has more freedom to just play his game with Critter at 6.

Galvin is probably trying to do too much, rushing things, and lacking vision at present.
 
2 trys to Dykes and 3 for Chelden Hayward in reserve grade, 3 convesions by Spinks.

Been a while since we have had a goal kucking 2nd rower. Martin was the last one.

Souths put a lot into the game against us.

Similar to us beating Penrith earlier this year and the Cows beating rhe Broncos.

We backed up pretty well after beat the Warriors, but the Roosters game and the fact that we lost it took a lot out of us.

Panthers, Warriors and Roosters are able to play with high intensity week after week.

Souths and Knights losing increases our chances of a lucky semi appearance.
