Australian news and politics.

These issues have been well documented around the world. The claim of green is simply that, a claim. It has its own destructive footprint at a high cost and until it can confront that, lacks credibility for the average person.

You've got Indonesians importing plastic waste from Europe to burn as it's cheaper. Germany shuts down its entire old energy system to save the world. At 84 million people it's clearly going to work when the combined populations or Turkey, Vietnam and The Philippines shrug their shoulders and simply don't give a shit about somewhere else trying the lead the way.
This guy worked for major oil companies and is responsible for organising PR response for at least 5 major environmental disasters from oil companies.

Not to mention half the stuff in this piece was not even relevant and completely fabricated.

It’s actually concerning people are so stupid as to just accept this because it’s on tv.

The world has seen why oil is a major fucking problem so oil companies paying for content. Lmfao

And for the record, I am not some greenie when it comes to energy. I can see a case for nuclear energy etc.

The problem with Australia drilling for oil is that we will run out in 7 years. If we drill where Angus wants to the government will have to subsidise them for only 2 more years.

The Bight is uneconomical and the Queensland ones are uneconomical and put tourism and agriculture at risk

Yeah but have you seen the fees they get from lobbyists. Surrely that makes a case for a dying technology to the detriment of the population

Exactly right. People are well aware of the oil issues and the nuclear case has been shut down by hysterics. The green industry needs to be kept honest too. They claim they've got an affordable silver bullet try shrug their shoulders when the truth hits home.

There is no viable case for nuclear to do anything in the short term - apart from the legal ban - the long tail build does nothing to help in the foreseeable future. This is brought up every time the LNP is in opposition and ignored every time they are in power. If Howard had started it instead of banning it when in power we could have it by now. If Abbott had started it we would be a long way down the track.

First thing is the to take away the legislative impediment - then see if anyone can make it work economically.

The nuclear ships sailed now. It has to be renewables supported by fossil fuels.

Most experts I speak to, and I had lunch with an engineer who focuses on energy, say a mix of renewables and nuclear. Never coal etc though

Personally I know fuck all about the issue so will leave it to experts. Not Matt canavan and channel 7

I think you are some greenie, give us your case for nuclear. Is there another colour for green/nuclear people, maybe burnt orange

Apparently calling out those disrespecting Anzac Day is controversial these days (as is exposing NDIS fraud)…

Ha wow you got totally down voted.

The morons who think ANZAC day glorifies war don't listen to the words of the speeches at the ceremonies. The speeches are commemorative and solemn. The marches proceed through cities with gratitude from those watching.

If you want war glorification, go to defence company trade shows or join your local terror cell.

Exactly. All by Friendly Jordies type Labor Left/Greens fanboys who sit online all day and just make bot accounts. One’s even claiming to be a veteran, but only started claiming after like six replies lol. I feel like in conversations about Anzac Day people who served or who had family or friends serve make it known first and foremost that they did, not just randomly bring it up.

Anzac Day is just a marketing tool for war or the afl and let’s politicians off the hook poor decision making. IMHo

Stolen valour is also an issue. The opinions of those who served are as diverse as they may be controversial. At the same time the services are for reflection and commemoration and left wing falsehoods of war glorification simply aren't present. If they are, the RSL and those present would give them a piece of their mind very quickly. The politicians can face scrutiny every other day.

John Curtin as a socialist himself wouldn't give the clowns today the time of day. The vast majority of conflicts needed fighting and the wet wipes that think just standing idly would've been the right thing to would see the world in a very different place.

Exactly. As for John Curtin he was an old-school socialist. Socialists back then also opposed mass immigration because they wanted to keep Australian jobs (some even held racist views and supported the White Australia Policy).

Anyway, lest we forget.
