I think you'll find that Pauline's new found surge in assimilationist popularity is heavily supported by second and third generation migrants who, like every group of migrants before them , want to shut the door behind them on the way in.
This is something public broadcasters will never report, admit or interview on. If those views from that part of the community get louder then it kills the narrative that there's a welcoming culture from those who've come before. Once assimilated, groups can't stand new ones who especially muck up.
 
I don't think people are against immigration as such (there may well be in this housing & cost of living crisis) but the issue is the opening of the floodgates to people who's beliefs are totally incompatible with Western society.

Bringing in the Lebanese in the 80's & 90's was fine when it was limited to Maronite Christians but when the gates were opened to Muslims the game was up.

Their religion completely forbids them from integrating into Western Society.

Like in the UK, they're here to take us over, according to the Koran, non-Muslims must be killed.
