I wouldn't be taking Goodwin - both Boyle & Goodwin are cooked. Time to stick with the young forwards - Irankunda, Toure, Segecic & hopefully Volpato
Goodwin still has one of the best football brains. He's got to go one final time. The flank passes against Venezuela were fine.

Unfortunately we won't get Hibs Boyle so I'd cut him. Popovic has sort of sabotaged Goodwin's standing since the China home game but that didn't stop him getting an assist against Indonesia. The stupid LWB experiment needn't have happened.

Gauci's game.

Angles deceive but I see it often with keepers wondering if they can come off their line a bit for crosses leading to the third goal.

You'd exposure your near post but to score would need a spectacular shot.

The first goal is a similar thing where he isn't going to be able to come out unless he's trotting forward already but it's the defender's job to get to the ball too.

Mohamed Toure scored the opener for Randers v Tromso in the Atlantic Cup. Never heard of that before. Club friendlies?
Probably just another fancy name given to a bunch of friendlies with a sponsor and trophy at the end.

Yes, The Atlantic Cup held in Portugal is a pre- or mid-season friendly tournament designed for European clubs, particularly those from leagues that do not operate during the winter (such as Scandinavia, Northern, and Central Europe). It serves as a competitive friendly competition for teams to prepare for their upcoming seasons.
  • Context: Held annually in the Algarve region of Portugal, the tournament provides competitive training opportunities.
  • Purpose: It bridges a gap for clubs seeking competitive matches during their off-season.

The name Algarve Cup rings a bell. It's either that or a separate one. Those snowy countries certainly picked the right place for a getaway.

Real Sociedad"s form revival since the arrival of Asst Manager John Maisano continues as they defeat Celta Vigo 3-1. I have no way of knowing if this is just coincidence but will be tracking to see if they can maintain it.

The rise of bos has been incredible.

Did anyone see this? I sure as hell never did. He was never really talked about like the next big thing?

You’d think he is going to kick on to big things.

I feel like by the time he was first choice LB and pushed Jamieson to the bench in his final GF winning appearance for Melb City people started to take notice. I know I certainly did. He was only 20 at this point.

Then whenever he was fit he performed well for Westerlo and at the time I genuinely thought Ange should have bought him at Spurs and he wouldn't have looked out of place. This Feyenoord season seems to be proving that.

If he can stay relatively injury free he could easily be playing for an even bigger club come next season!
