What also helped was the Nix playing games in Auckland and having big crowds which showed the public were crying out for their own team which was the case. The u look at sides like WU playing games in Tassie etc and no one showing up to watch. That’s why I know teams in Tassie would fail to attract decent crowds. Auckland basing themselves out of Mount Smart was a sensible move.
