Age grade Matildas teams thread

Three minutes of first half stoppage time, with the Young Matildas leading Chinese Taipei 2-0 in their under-20 Women's Asian Cup group C opener.

Three changes for the Young Matildas. Amelia Cassar, Danella Butrus and Poppy O'Keeffe come on in the 63rd minute for Talia Younis, Tiana Fuller and Zara Kruger respectively.

Two more changes for the Young Matildas in the 69th minute. Milly Bennett and Sienna Dale replace Alexia Apostolakis and Skye Halmarick respectively.

Rubi Sullivan yellow carded in the 72nd minute for the Young Matildas for a foul, becoming the first player to receive one this match.

WHAT A WIN!!!! I hope Joe Montemurro is watching, THIS is the next gen!!!

I should also note that Peta Trimis is eligible for both Australia and Greece. The Matildas must cap her.

Full time at the Pathum Thani Stadium, with the Young Matildas thrashing Chinese Taipei 5-0 to get their campaign underway with a win. Skye Halmarick scored a brace of goals in the 24th and 50th minute, as did Peta Trimis in the 53rd and 61st minute, with Tiana Fuller the other goalscorer. The result sees the Young Matildas top the group early, with Japan yet to play their group C opener against India, in addition to Skye Halmarick and Peta Trimis both moving joint top in the race for the Golden Boot on two goals, tied with Lu Zheng from China and Mosamamt Sagorika from Bangladesh.

I think Alexia Apostolakis would have been a shout to eventually make the move overseas regardless but depending on how the Young Matildas run, I'd say the most likely out of the 23-player list to secure transfers abroad would be her and Shelby McMahon given that they'll possibly have won the AFC Women's Champions League with Melbourne City also in addition to making waves at the under-20 Women's Asian Cup.
I disagree, I don’t think that being a part of a tournament winning team guarantees anything.

Kyra Cooney-Cross won the A-League Women grand final with Melbourne Victory in season 2020-21 and ended up making the move overseas the following season so in theory Alexia Apostolakis and Shelby McMahon should follow suit also.

I think your theory is full of holes.
Are you telling me that, ,for instance, because the Mariners won the grand final in 2025 that Gomez, Trimis, Fuller will make a move overseas?
They may well do but it won’t have anything to do with winning a grand final.

Izzy Gomez will be more likely to make the move overseas than Peta Trimis or Tiana Fuller but all three of them definitely have the potential to make it overseas in the future.
