Yep....And that contrast between that public messaging and the actions of its personnel is exactly why the fallout has been so intense and widespread.

And I've always had that kind of feeling that a lot of these Eastern Suburb's "our shit doesn't stink" elites are a major part of the fanbase....

The metropolitan, progressive classes, the default team of choice for media figures, writers, and cultural commentators in publications like The SMH or The Monthly.

And when a club draws heavily from such a demographic, it can sometimes amplify a sense of institutional self-righteousness around the place.

Despite the fact they all went to elite schools, it had NOTHING to do with background or intelligence... Most of these kids got a free ride because of physical size and aptitude to being a meathead. You know that most of the players are multimillionaires without the emotional intelligence or ethics to control themselves?

When a crisis like this hits, it exposes the massive gap between the pristine corporate image a club likes to project and the insulated, high-privilege bubble these young men often inhabit...

And not just an AFL thing, it's a noticeable vulnerability across elite sports clubs globally.

Remember the Mason Greewood scandal at Manchester United?

The Basketball player Kobe Bryant was another high-profile accused of sexual assault.

Exactly. They get their big money so they can purchase a home away from societal issues. Attend events with security on the foot to keep the riff raff out. It'd take a couple of weeks for your head to enter the clouds.

Criminal proceedings should take place but if this were a bunch of real carpenters, you'd expect they'd all have been fired, arrested and in the deepest of shit.
 


Values and integrity... Honestly fuck these people. They should be sacked and never be able to work in a decent paying role again. They're in an absolute bubble and think others and modesty is beneath them.
