A-League transfer news/rumours

I know I'm in the minority but I'm against players moving unless it's big $$$ if dukly goes Adelaide are weaker they won't replace him with a better player and that means their games are worse to watch.

Come @ me
Tend to agree with you, MCG.

However, if players are struggling to get game time at one club, and they are promised a better chance for more game time at another, it may be plausible to move.

That’s not really a hot take. He’s a good player and should be heading overseas, but that means Adelaide needs to find a replacement. Preferably you’d want a young kid come in who can do similar things to create a cycle of developing new talents, sending them overseas so they can eventually become Socceroos, then develop a new talent and repeat the cycle.

What if there isn't a good young player or the money isn't enough?

He’s not good enough to go overseas yet.

Whether we sign a replacement for him or not I think will depend on whether Airton plans on playing Yull out wide or through the middle

And he’s out of contract so we won’t get a cent for him

I had discovered football well before this.

When I was playing football in the mid 60s, what were you doing?

I have no doubt SAF regretted offloading Stam prematurely.
But that is NOT what you stated though, you painted it as some sort of incorrect "reading" of your precious statistical analysis...

"SAF incorrectly read that Jaap Stam was making less tackles per game at Man U. He sold him to a big Italian club, where Stam went on to have resounding success!"

I don't get it, The Nixs are not a deadbeat club like they were a few years back. Why would you turn down a offer to go Pro and stick with playing park football?. As a Nix supporter I find it baffling. Are we really that bad of a club in the eyes of semi pro footballers in Australia?.
Money dude.... Being NPL player you can hold a full time job AND get paid decent coin to play aprt time football.... Aleague wages are terrible.

Yep, if you are a 17-18 year old with an A-League pro contract, the wages are going to be low. Could be as low as $45k. However, that is a full time contract, that means no day job. They train and prepare during the day, 5-6 days a week. Football is the day job. I'm sure some of them probably do some cash jobs and side hustles though. So if a young person doesn't have the support (financial and other) from their parents for one reason or another, then signing a professional football contract probably isn't a smart move.
