Who the fuck watches the Waratahs lol? People go on about how nobody comes to soccer games but Sydney FC continues to get some of the biggest crowds in the league and gets bigger crowds than any Super Rugby team in Australia would. No articles in the SMH about the upcoming GF or even the Sydney-Jets game which was a classic. Articles about the Waratahs(perennial second raters) ,the Swans and of of course about the NRL SOO and the so called Magic Round show where our code stands in the pecking order.Stuff the mainstream media!
Yeah right, the big club that can bearly pull 17k to a finals match. Super Rugby leaves u in its wake.when it cums to finals.Who the fuck watches the Waratahs lol? He did say the Waratahs. Hard to tell how they perform in finals at home.Yeah right, the big club that can bearly pull 17k to a finals match. Super Rugby leaves u in its wake.when it cums to finals.
The Sydney Morning Herald football section also has nothing about the A-League Men grand final or Sydney FC's semi-final second leg game against Newcastle Jets but they had a feature on Harrison Devenish-Meares, with much of their coverage being dominated by the FA Cup final, Hearts falling short in the Scottish Premiership title race along with the odd article on Holly McNamara running riot in the Dub grand final so even European football takes higher precedence compared to the A-Leagues unfortunately. No articles in the SMH about the upcoming GF or even the Sydney-Jets game which was a classic. Yeah true, it does suck ass that we have had great finals matches and no mention of them in the media. Channel 9 normally sometimes does highlites especially if SFC win games here in NSW but there is nothing. What’s Rugby got that the ALM don’t?He did say the Waratahs. Hard to tell how they perform in finals at home.
In Australia not NZ. Similarly AFL gets big crowds here but way smaller crowds Across the Ditch. The Super Rugby really isn’t that big here, in fact rugby union in general is dead here other than the Wallabies unless you have a clear connection to NZ or the Pacific.Yeah right, the big club that can bearly pull 17k to a finals match. Super Rugby leaves u in its wake.when it cums to finals.
Nine has the rights to the Prem, WSL, FA Cup and all the UEFA cups so that makes sense. They don’t have the rights to the Premiership though (BeIn does).
It was on Nine news on Sunday evening.Yeah true, it does suck ass that we have had great finals matches and no mention of them in the media. Channel 9 normally sometimes does highlites especially if SFC win games here in NSW but there is nothing. What’s Rugby got that the ALM don’t?
This is the crowds for the Australian super rugby teams this season.Yeah right, the big club that can bearly pull 17k to a finals match. Super Rugby leaves u in its wake.when it cums to finals.
Yes, it is obviously a policy decision. No broadcast rights, no coverage. No articles in the SMH about the upcoming GF or even the Sydney-Jets game which was a classic. Newcastle Herald today - Special edition on the Jets season - 12 page lift out that wrap around the front and back of the paper with the headline "Gold Rush - Celebrating a season of thrills, trophies and unforgettable moments". It includes a double page poster of the team as well as double page spread that lists out and discusses each player, as well as numerous other articles about the team, club and fans. Some great photos of the team celebrating and the packed out stadium.Yes, it is obviously a policy decision. No broadcast rights, no coverage.

That is fantastic! Bodes well for next season for the Jets.Newcastle Herald today - Special edition on the Jets season - 12 page lift out that wrap around the front and back of the paper with the headline "Gold Rush - Celebrating a season of thrills, trophies and unforgettable moments". Aside from the lift out, the Jets are the lead story on the back page regarding the awards ceremony last night.
Imagine if that was the norm for the A-League!
