A-League Mens 25/26 - Semi Finals

The Newy crowd seem pretty chilled with the result, just proud of the boys for going this far. There have been reports of fukwit heros in Smurfs away bay, throwing shit at families in the next bay. Local forum saying golf balls were thrown. Anyone in that bay can deny this. Just remember you are judged on your away bay, sounded like WSW in the bad days

Would have loved to been there when Eli Adam’s scored. Watching it on TV doesnt give it justice to the crowd roar but I could just imagen.
I’ve never knocked the Jets or there fans and last night showed Wots possible up there in the hunter region. Why SFC can’t sell out a stadium or get close to 20k at a finals match is beyound me.

Could the Nix? Oh wait…

Stuff was getting thrown in BOTH directions.

Very hollow feeling at the end of the game, for such an incredible season to end that way is heart breaking.

As a Jets fan, two trophies in the season is such a brilliant achievement. Whilst we will lose players quite a few players, hopefully Badolato being back next season means we see the same attacking football. Somewhat incredible what was achieved with him out for the vast majority of the season. Huge seasons from Taylor, Adams and Dobson in the attacking positions, but the real game changer was Burgess' switch the a defensive midfield role. The guy played his guts out week after week, and did so with incredible skill to beat players in tight spaces and feed balls into those attacking players. He was immense.

Appreciate as a Jets fan it is easy to feel aggrieved, but it would be an easier pill to swallow if we were simply outplayed and beaten. Winning the premiership by 5 points and then having two 1-1 draws, and your reward is a 50/50 penalty shootout with 5th place for a spot in the grand final. I would never propose the removal of finals or a change to the format, but such an outcome does not seem just.

On the bright side, what a moment in the 95th minute! There are some moments in sport you get to witness live that stick with you, this was one of them.

For Sydney, they are the beneficiary of that unjustness. I thought they have been quite average all year and struggle to think of any part of the season where I thought they were playing really good football. But they kept being there and there abouts, and got their spot in the finals. They were also the beneficiary of some atrocious decisions against Victory, and really should not have even been in the position of playing for a spot in the GF.

For Auckland, they are probably the lesser of the two evils for the grand final. They way they conducted themselves on Friday night was a bit poor with some of the comments they made, but they probably deserve it the most given how dominant they were last season and the cruel way their season ended. At least an Auckland victory would provide some nice scenes for the competition and help to promote it (particularly given the Sydney media are simply ignoring it - I cannot find one story about it on the Sydney Morning Herald website).

In general, a 3rd v 5th grand final may well be the result of the manner in which the officials have approached the finals series. Adelaide, more than any other side, has the right to feel aggrieved by that. Oddly, but potentially also related, of the 6 finals series games so far this year, only once has the home team 'won'', and that was in a penalty shoot-out.

Throwing a golf ball and hitting a kid. Thats something else. Is that a thing to bring a golf ball to throw at other supporters? Bloody ethnics, glad we stamped all that out with the NCIP
Really ?
Ethnics - thought you better than that since you’ve joined.
Unless your just gutted of the loss but pretty left field comment.

You know what, be proud of your season and be proud of your club. I'm a broken record but first past the post is the true indicator of the success of Milligan and the players this season. As far as I'm concerned you won the title and the Finals is essentially the A League equivalent of the Australian Championship, a separate from scratch comp.

It's well know that the "corporate" boxes always throw stuff on the away bay supporters, and this occurred on the weekend also according to one of my neighbours. ;)
