A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 26

This is a representation of why First Past The Post is vastly superior. A team gets to lift the Premiers Plate at home in front of their fans after working hard and playing well all season and now they have to play essentially a separate competition against teams who have all been vastly inferior all season.

I may be naïve but seeing the Mariners do the treble and the women’s team go on a fairytale run to win the grand final, the Matilda’s getting big crowds in Gosford and Newcastle, and now the Jets potentially winning a treble and pulling big crowds at home, I really think the football base in the Central Coast and Hunter is gonna grow and we could see some good crowds at games in the future.

Well done to the Jets. Premiership well deserved and the Anzac Ceremony was done well and well respected by the crowd.
Mariners fan respects Jets?

In all seriousness, well done to Newy on making history. The kids in this team are seriously talented and will make it big someday.

I think you are half right. The regions here are just waiting for them both to have stable ownership prepared to invest over a number of years to sustain the academies and supplement them with good visa players. They both have to keep their local feel (even from recruits). Their visa players have to be into the regional identities

Milligan now has to keep this squad together (mostly Stanton's squad) and recruit well. I'm not sure how good their academy is after the last batch. different question now for Milligan but he has stood up very well so far.

The down side of them putting so many players up the park is that they are liable to be caught out by a smart long ball to fast attackers.Even in this game in the first twenty minutes Blair,Auglah and Lavalle were able to get in behind their defenders .Opposition coaches will have noted this but of course they have to have defenders and DMs who can hit those long balls .
Anyway congrats to the Jets who have played the best football this season and are always looking to attack and move forward.
