That Southampton post about focusing on who actually goes to matches already rather than finding converts makes a sound point. It's worth a shot in that supporters would more likely tell others about the overall offerings than the rushed in and out on a matchday.

He made several goalline clearances that would have been goals.

He shutdown promising attacks and could time a perfect desperation tackle (except against Perias).

His direct impact allowed us wins we would not have deserved otherwise.

Without confidence in the defenders our midfield cannot look forward and we have to play too much looking backwards in fear. We are scoring less and I do not feel like goals will come when we need them.

I am not saying that Ludwik and Valkanis cannot improve and become effective but we are far from where we were with Herrington - both offensively and defensively.

Added footnote - I had forgotten Stajic's injury until I listened to Valkanis post game.

The loss of both combined to break us as both were making a fantastic difference to our play.

The loss of a very effective DM was equally damaging to the ability to play out problem games.
