A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 15

Wellington ripped off the win by bias ref and VAR paid off by City.

...and a penalty taker who just did not do quite enough.

it was quite obvious at the end that Wellington had a deliberate strategy of getting in the box and kicking the ball up at their opponents arm. Totally legitimate act and paid off once when they got their penalty - but they kept trying it and appealing for another penalty.

it is probably the modern equivalent at the end of a game of running into the box, initiating any bit of contact, and flopping - but it is legal and you can't be carded for it. Relies on your opponent to be silly and put an arm up but it is not beyond the ball carrier timing it for a good chance. The instinct to cover your face with your arm is pretty strong when you are not focussed on keeping your arms down.

Just on the side - have you ever paid attention to the actions of the interviewing panel at Sky Stadium?

I noticed them today - particularly the woman. When someone starts talking they nod their heads constantly and turn to look at the camera like a bunch of puppets one after another. It is quite comical.

I have seen it from quite a few presenters - obviously all go to the same school of paneltry.

thought the nix were pretty lucky to get that penalty, Bonetig was clearly protecting his face from getting falconed. The handball interpretation has baffled me a bit this year to be honest

On the one hand there has been a lot more lenience when there are mitigating circumstances, but self preservation isn't a mitigating circumstance?

School boys could have taken a better pen then that I do admit. But still the ref let City off so many times it took the life out of the game. Anyway a draw is better then a loss.

JFC, can Harps be anymore biased against Adelaide? Holy smokes he’s draining to listen to.

Adelaide will be rueing their first half misses.

Game should be over but it looks like MacArthur might steal it.

This Dukuly goes alright.

What was the earliest kickoff time they bother scheduling though? I've personally never seen a 2:00pm A-League match.
There aren't 2pm kickoffs for A-League Men matches because the stadiums have adequate lighting and also broadcast commitments stipulate that kickoff times are normally late afternoon or early evening, but it is definitely uncommon and as far as I know the Canberra United game in A-League Women this week is the only match with a 2pm kickoff.

Never at 12:00pm or 1:00pm though. 2:00pm seems to be the earliest time possible. The UK has 12:00pm kickoffs.

Should be entertaining, can't wait to see the Vulkano erupt:p
At least you didn't call him the Vulkanus.

Not sure I want to see that erupting.

I have no expectations from today's game other than that Jets will continue to play positive, attacking football.

I hope it is one of our stifling days that puts us on top.

You suck.

Carn the Roar!!! :P
