Trewin did well but that was more because the game had opened up and they'd made many subs. As a RWB from the start he'd be pretty immobile.

Degenek instead of Geria for me. I was thinking Leckie instead of Mabil until today but Leckie was woeful. It's so frustratimg we have better players that were culled.

Leckie won't be cut, Popa froths over him after one solid game in the finals. I don't mind him staying AS LONG AS he doesn't start. He's really a player you bring on with 10 minutes to go to defend a lead.

He's cutting Gauci, Borello, Yengi and Mabil.

Leckie has to go now, no exceptions. The game against Mexico only served to reiterate that he's regressing and won't be able to handle the physicality of our group stage opponents at the World Cup because he was struggling for most of the match in addition to the fact that we have much better options who can fill the positions he plays in, including on the wing and at centre forward.

The pre game bus footage is interesting with many bench players who didn't get on looking tense. The body language is somewhat indicative but they also look focused and just a moment of casual.

For me Leckie, Behich and in keeping with the city theme, Beach.

Wasn't this game supposed to be a final chance for some? Leckie aside it's almost indicative the cut players were the ones who didn't feature. Boyle, Devlin, Rowles, Degenek, Geria, Borrello, Tete.

In hindsight I wish we'd started Yengi.

Rowles could be the emergency LWB. I'd love Behich to get cut to open up for others to make the squad.

Disgusted with the selections today. But even worse is the selection policy over the last two years:

Decent players lost: Triantis, Segecic

Decent players not selected: Balard, Nisbet, Robertson, Bennie, Younis

Decent players not used today: Devlin, Yengi

Non-decent players still in the squad: Hrustic, Boyle, Leckie, Behich, Degenek, O'Neill, Mabil

Just imagine how excited we'd be if we had most of the above decent players IN instead of most of the above non-decent players...
