Sign Up Now!I'm going to jump back on this because the Riverina Cup draw for 2026 has been made - and it may help fill in some of these little gaps - we know none of these Albury clubs entered the Australia Cup this year - I don't expect any of the Griffith/Wagga/South West Slopes clubs in this competition to enter either. This is the problem I have with Wagga running the complete upper level of Riverina - it seems to shut out a bit of ambition now (which, ironically, is what's happened to them anyways in Canberra). But I guess we'll have to wait and see when the NSW Waratah Cup draw is made.Non-State Leagues teams include:
Ballarat
Bacchus Marsh
Ballarat SC
Ballarat North United
Bendigo
Latrobe University
Shepparton United
Spring Gully United
Strathdale
Castlemaine Goldfields (also play or have recently Metropolitan)
Golden City
Latrobe Valley
Sale United
Gippsland
Phillip Island
South-West
Warrnambool Rangers
Metropolitan
Truganina Lions
Fitzroy Lions
St Albans Gospic Bears
Swinburne
I'm probably missing some that NicCarBel can fill in (and give the complete ins and outs recap); Maryborough SC made a big deal out of them entering the cup last year but haven't this year; Myrtleford Savoy are another regional team that haven't entered - maybe because of Murray United entering SL7

Football Tasmania Round 3TASMANIA
My spreadsheet hasn't broken down Tasmania other than "Northern" and "Southern", so I'll have to look at my map this afternoon to determine whether any would qualify as "Regional" (basically would be anything outside Hobart and Launceston city limits IMO)
- Only one 'new' club is competing in 2026 - who competes in 2024, but not 2025
- Ulverstone (2026 NPL Tasmania - promoted from 2025 Northern Championship
- Only one club is not competing in 2026, after competing in 2025
- Burnie United (2026 Northern Championship)
Capital Football Round 3CAPITAL FOOTBALL
Clubs competing in 2026 that have not competed ever (or since 2023)
Clubs that competed in 2025 that are not competing in 2026
- Belwest Foxes (2025 Capital League Division 5)
There are NO regional teams in Capital Football competing in 2026.
- Gungahlin United (folded)
- Yoogali SC (removed from federation)
- Wagga City Wanderers (removed from federation)
- Burns FC (2025 Capital League Division 4)
- Yarabi (2025 Capital League Division 5)
Overall - 18 clubs competing in 2026. There were 22 in 2025.
It's only Waratah Cup / NSW we're waiting on now, isn't it?
And I guess NT as well technically
yeah thought so - I noticed their first round last year wasn't played until mid/late March anyways, so makes sense. I'm interested to see which teams outside Sydney/Gosford/Wollongong enter this year.Yeah NSW always lag, entries i think closed on friday.
