I'm probably missing some that NicCarBel can fill in (and give the complete ins and outs recap); Maryborough SC made a big deal out of them entering the cup last year but haven't this year; Myrtleford Savoy are another regional team that haven't entered - maybe because of Murray United entering SL7
I'm going to jump back on this because the Riverina Cup draw for 2026 has been made - and it may help fill in some of these little gaps - we know none of these Albury clubs entered the Australia Cup this year - I don't expect any of the Griffith/Wagga/South West Slopes clubs in this competition to enter either. This is the problem I have with Wagga running the complete upper level of Riverina - it seems to shut out a bit of ambition now (which, ironically, is what's happened to them anyways in Canberra). But I guess we'll have to wait and see when the NSW Waratah Cup draw is made.

For those who don't know - the Riverina Cup is run by Football Wagga, and is open to all clubs from the associations that previously made the Riverina Branch of Football NSW (Griffith, Wagga, South West Slopes, Albury-Wodonga), including (when they were there) the two Capital Football clubs: Yoogali SC and Wagga City Wanderers.

Now in it's third year, it will be taking place as a Group and Knockout fixture (4x groups of 3, with I assume each Group winner advancing to a semi final, and then final)
  • POOL A
    • Henwood Park (Wagga)
    • South Wagga (Wagga)
    • Young Lions (I consider this South West Slopes - but I think it's technically Wagga)
  • POOL B
    • Hanwood FC (Griffith - but competes in Wagga)
    • Melrose FC (Albury-Wodonga)
    • Wagga United (Wagga)
  • POOL C
    • Albury Hotspurs (Albury-Wodonga)
    • Yoogali FC (Griffith - but competes in Wagga - notice I've put emphasis on the FC, is a different club to Yoogali SC)
    • Griffith City (Griffith - but competes in Wagga)
  • POOL D
    • Lake Albert (Wagga)
    • Tolland Wolves (Wagga)
    • Wodonga Diamonds (Albury-Wodonga)

Wow - watching this Tasmania draw makes me laugh - just powers into the pot this woman does

TASMANIA
  • Only one 'new' club is competing in 2026 - who competes in 2024, but not 2025
    • Ulverstone (2026 NPL Tasmania - promoted from 2025 Northern Championship
  • Only one club is not competing in 2026, after competing in 2025
    • Burnie United (2026 Northern Championship)
My spreadsheet hasn't broken down Tasmania other than "Northern" and "Southern", so I'll have to look at my map this afternoon to determine whether any would qualify as "Regional" (basically would be anything outside Hobart and Launceston city limits IMO)

And I guess NT as well technically

Yeah NSW always lag, entries i think closed on friday.
yeah thought so - I noticed their first round last year wasn't played until mid/late March anyways, so makes sense. I'm interested to see which teams outside Sydney/Gosford/Wollongong enter this year.
