Some big updates.

- No NZ teams in the Cup anymore
- All A-League clubs automatically qualify
- South Melbourne qualified by virtue of winning the Aus Championship


Overall I like it. NZ out makes sense. All ALM makes sense. Championship winners is awesome.

Not having APL qualifiers in Darwin is sad but understandable. Hopefully they get to host their own match.

Queensland getting four spots is a bit rich, but again it's understandable considering the cup spots are about quantity not quality of clubs. I'd prefer three each for QLD and SA but it is what it is.

Victoria is the clear leader at NPL level by quantity AND quality, so it's great to see that they'll have five entries thanks to the Championship. They always deserve one more spot than the next best.

Interesting to note is Football Bhutan's opponent, which is listed as Kalamunda United, as United merged with Maddington White City in 2024 to form Kalamunda City (who have competed in the State League in 2024 and 2025 as well as the Australia Cup, but I don't see any mention of the two clubs splitting back up.
