2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

The aleague sides have had shockers tonight, not a good look but credit to Lions FC at least they deserved their win.

The aleague they need a serious diagnosis on what has gone wrong not just off the pitch but on it as well, it’s a not look for a league trying to get more interest and eyes balls into it.
A lot is made of teams fitness and being pre season. I watched this match and couldnt believe how many misplaced passes City made and how genuinely poor they looked technically.

Maybe to start just an idea it'll be good not to lose good players to India Singapore English league 2 etc!

The conditioning looks so bad, I think the long off season is coming back to haunt teams given the NPL boys are fit and in season plus their seasons are longer too compared to the aleague boys.

The APL need a kick up the backside if they care about their product being sellable to start doing something about it.

due to Lions FC involvement in Kappa Queensland Cup final held next Saturday Night at Spencer Park against Peninsula Power as a result Australia Cup quarter final tie between Lions FC and North Sunshine Eagles or Heidelberg United will now be played midweek next week as a result of tonight's win by Lions FC.1786448701522.png

Well done to SD Raiders, they got something going over there plus the scenes look great at the end as well.

The NPL own the aleague lol.

I would still expect Victory or sydney to win it. Sydney the more likely, i think they just need to win the next round, the semis are in September so they should be a lot more fitter by then, but its certainly getting hairy.
