Newcastle Jets defeated Sydney FC 3-1 and Adelaide United ran out 2-1 winners over 10-player Perth Glory to get A-League Women matchday 19 underway. The results see Newcastle Jets remain ninth on the ladder but move to 20 points with their sixth win of the season, closing the gap on Brisbane Roar, Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory to just two points, whilst Adelaide United move to second on the ladder, one point behind ladder leaders Melbourne City. Sydney FC remain bottom of the ladder on 15 points with their eighth loss of the season, but the gap between them and second from bottom Western Sydney Wanderers is still one point, and Perth Glory are fifth on 23 points.
