Agreed - it’s pretty stupid now
A lot of shows start off good and go down yellowjackets, Ozark I'll get a lot of hate for this but ted lasso.

Breaking bad and better call Saul actually got better in their final season

agreed fella - no diff to movies part 2/3/4/5 yaddayadda.....
It gets milked OTT - only so few can keep delivering well enough.

Try re-watching the entire Death Wish series with Charles Bronson.

How many times can a man be so unlucky with lovers/friends/relatives - forcing him back into the life that earned the company so much at the box office in movie 1. Sometimes, if I put on my cynical hat, I can suspect that the events are contrived for commercial gain.

Walking Dead was so brilliant to begin, but even with the script writers working under the direction to change things significantly every (I think) 5 episodes to avoid stagnation it became boring as all hell and 'ridiculous' beyond the bounds of the unreal zombie world. When action becomes soap opera they have lost it.

Edit: Supernatural and Grimm both went the same way, but I was really glad I stuck through to the endings to both. As well done as they could to recover something of the feeling early on.

hehe too true re Death Wish - I so luved Bronson, they never die, same applied with the mighty Duke !
Heroes forever always dodged the bullets or bombs haha and got the women under sufference lol......

You've just remnded me of another rippa western actor and movies - Clint Eastwood - his westerns were epic for me.
Never missed a shot, never copped one that I can recall, always got the women even his own were the lead actress's haha

Yer Walking Dead, was so good for a while, then its just the same same - you realise WTF did I enjoy so much repetitve BS.
Whats wrong with you.

Being a car fanatic as well, I can only take so much of Vin Diesel surviving parachuting from 35000ft landing and putting the gas pedal down in one piece let alone the bloody car haha

Arnie died how many times through Terminator but I'll Be Back ! that he did.

You know one series that seems to have survived and done half ok each new release - Bond 007 !

James Bond: 12(!) actors, and 27 movies in 63 years

maybe thats the key ? changing lead actors and also some cracking theme songs.

Even though I'm no Cruise fanboy I've always enjoyed the Mission Impossible since its beginnings.
The action, the women, what more can you dream the dream haha

maybe I'm missing something, of late the wife pass's the remote to me saying look up a movie to watch ?
Now put aside watching countless choices of classics etc that we all have watched our favs many a time I really can't find much worth watching re new releases.
We pretty much got near on every app to scroll through just boggles me I struggle finding something decent of so many Bgrade movies.

Thank christ for sports otherwise I'd be damn bored !

I am the same.

Trawling through New Releases just isn't the same excitement factor it was a few years back even.

We have been watching lost of series instead of movies but even that is running thin - got round to Mayor of Kingstown and currently in Le Bureau (which is the original series that the US The Agency redid almost word for word). Both watchable without being enthralling for us.

If you haven't watched Lupin it is worth watching as a different sort of clever/funny thief show. A bit of Ocean's 11 feel with a hint of Inspector Clousseau vibe - but a clever story with humour rather than an outright comedy. Loved the first part. Can't say it improved with the third part but still looking forward to part four when it comes out.

Also, love watching shows from places I have visited at least once. You sometimes forget the subtitles looking at the background and saying "we've been there".

Glad I'm not alone.
All this 24/7 and at your finger tips - the movie writers/producers can't keep up anymore, also I think many top shelf actors have rebelled against the modernisation copy rights etcetc they are holding back not taking up offers like they used to.

yer I also struggle with "series" viewing more and more.
So much rubbish.
Used to be many good ones but again quality is lacking.
Seen Kingstown, not bad so so as mentioned and the latter.
Oh surprisingly the wife found this movie last night.

Actually better than I expected infact good, bizarre you get quite shocked and you could picture this happening TBH.

I might have a look at it - which means watching it from start to end. Once I start I have to finish in case the ending makes up for anything crap before that.

I have only ever found 1 movie that I actually could not sit through and I started a thread about it ages ago - The Megalodon - don't go there.

The Game with Michael Douglas may appeal to you if you haven't seen it.
Edit: The Game is the one movie that I have really felt disappointed that you can only ever watch a movie for the first time once.

Its a good build up to the end actually.

Mate I'm a huge Statham fan, yes I watched that whole movie as uttley ridiculous as it was haha

Re Douglas, TBH I can't seem to recall seeing that for I tend to watch most of his movies from back in the day.
I'll suss it out.

The Meg was a decent and watchable Statham movie - this is The Megalodon with the unwatchable Eric Roberts and I honestly say do not watch it.

Edit: Megaldon: The Frenzy.
My brain refuses to remember as much as possible it was such a bad movie.

haha Eric Roberts - poor fella, imagine having such a nice sister and worse making you look so so second rate !
Imagine what the fam gatherings are like and discussed.

Watching Masters Of The Air which follows the 100th Airborne bomber group in WW2.

It's American-centric of course but it's a good watch. Amazing what those blokes went through.

On a side note my high school maths teacher was a former Lancaster bomber navigator. Poor bugger had shell shock.

Often forgotten classic... Sean Penns finest movie for me.

Never really liked Penn even though he has played a few very good roles.

I just finished flight to Chile.
Watched the latest Mission Impossible.
Talk about going to the impossible and unbelievable alright.
No where near as good as some previous ones.

Walking Dead was so brilliant to begin,
I lasted until Season 4 when I realised the whole show was them walking in the forest, occasionally killing zombies in the forest and occassionally meeting normal people, in the forest. I was bored shitless.

yep as they say, same shit different day, rinse and repeat.

I just started watching Zero Day on Netflix with Robert de Nero playing the part of an ex POTUS.

I'm 3 episodes in and it's a good story about a mass cyber attack on America with the ex POTUS tasked to lead the enquiry into how it happened.
