Tv/movie thread

If you want something that is just different to the run of the mill murder stuff, Lockwood & Co and Dead Boy Detectives are both relatively lightweight, entertaining young adult based supernatural series.

I particularly like Lockwood & Co for the feeling it imparts but be warned - they only did one season so unless you read the books you will never know where it is heading (I don't have a clue - bastards!).

For outright laughs I find the British "Would I Lie To You" has some absolutely hilarious segments. Unfortunately you also have to sit through some tossers but on balance it is well worth the effort.

Mind Your Language is a good show, all on youtube now. Modern TV only feeds the sickness of modern society.
Used to love watching it when it came out.

Simple ideas done well made for good shows.

Watched Happy Gilmore 2. Watched it so many times as a kid and was always fun. This one did well. I think there were a few lulls and the new tournament golf boss seemed an absolute twat without the acting and I didn't get how the caddy was supposed to be cool or funny. It seems both these blokes are hip outside of this movie but they're painful.

I just really enjoyed how they didn't miss a reference to the first film. So many good memories and they kept popping up for a great nostalgic laugh.

I think the movie resonates with those who've all grown or aged with the film over time.

Watched it last night as well.
I was 50/50 about it.
Started getting concerned with some of the typical Happy Madison production dips where it becomes too corny but they kept picking it back up. Some movies shouldn't have sequels. This one passed, just.

Yes agree it passed just.
Thought the plot line of maxi golf was pretty lame tbh if it weren’t for the regular characters etc
Anyway light hearted entertainment but nothing much to say it great unfortunately.

Wow what a terrible movie happy Gilmore 2 was just brainrot if that's the future of comedies we're screwed
That's how a lot of them are now with this new gen of apparently cool, hip and funny where it's actually the totally opposite. I personally don't find Brooklyn 99 funny with the lead guy having a very punchable face. Then there are annoying twats like Adam DeVine.

Late night TV is also brainrot as you can only repeat the same political jokes that many times.

So my take is they were going with memes because that's what it's about these days everyone just wants to go viral. The attention span of the average person is like a twelve year old these days even i go on my phone while watching TV

Isn't that the one with the drive through scene?
Can't remember. The only thing I remember about it, besides being unbelievably woeful, is Mike Tyson is in it for some reason.

Got Prison Break on. Great show. I now how it ends but often get fatigued around season 3. Seeing T-Bag's actor on other shows, you just can't help but think he's going to murder someone yet he's the happy charming neighbour.
