2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

A-league teams done dirty by the draw, thank god SFC will win the final vs Sth Melbourne to save face. The Final match must be played at a neutral venue so we dont get any ethnic crowd violence once again.

They were all hoping we won as they were planning a bus load from Melbourne for the Victory game if it fell on a weekend.

Sorry LFC, I was hoping so too, a new fixture which we hadn’t seen play out before. Either that or wanderers. Imagine sydney united back to back games v wanderers and then Sydney fc

Marconi tends to be more the western suburbs working class Italians. Again, generalisations though. There would be a lot of cross over there, both would have families from other parts of Sydney who have ties to one or the other. 0 risk of trouble v Sydney united with either of them

Well if your average APIA fan is from Canada Bay and your average Marconi fan is from Fairfield there’s clearly socioeconomic and sociopolitical differences.

Correct, I don’t think either club was specifically founded with that point of difference in mind, it would have just happened that way over time as you naturally draw from the community who live nearby, then over time you get familial connections to one club or the other forming etc and the inner west is far more well off than the west west

All due respect, as much as they’d deserve it if they do get through, I hope not. Of all the potential finals the draw could throw up. Qld lions hosting an a league team in Brisbane would be a far less noteworthy event

South or Preston would host one semi final.

As for the other semi final, it depends. If SD Raiders defeat Sydney FC, then they would host the semi final. If Sydney FC defeats SD Raiders but APIA defeats Victory, then APIA as an NPL team would host the semi final. If both Sydney FC and Victory win, then Sydney FC would host Victory. Clear as mud.

I'm reading the draw on the other side the other way around, that winner of Lions v North Sunshine Eagles hosts Semi Final 2

EDIT: I guess it depends where I view the bracket - I've seen the bracket flipped on that side as well, so I will just take your word for it hahaha
