A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Holly McNamara is headed to Everton after leaving Melbourne City upon falling out of contract and will become teammates with Clare Wheeler as she moves overseas for the first time in her career. She's been assigned the number 9 jersey but it's not known how long she'll be under contract at the side for yet.
WOW, WHAT A SIGNING!!!! Huge step up from the Dub but she 100% deserves it!!!!

Ella Tonkin joining Matilda McNamara in plying her trade in Portugal heading into season 2026-27 and could make her competitive debut for the side against Annalise Rasmussen and Juventus on August 5th local time in the UWCL second qualifying round, but it's not known how long she'll be under contract for yet.
2 year contract

Charlotte McLean has extended her contract at Sydney FC and will remain at the side for the next two seasons through the end of Dub season 2027-28 after previously returning to the club for the last two matchdays of A-League Women season 2025-26.

Still working on this week’s one, I’ve been a bit busy.
Thanks a bunch for everything you do for G and G forum, HSF.

I love your Fan View articles! They are well-written, informative and have very good photos. They must take time to compile too. I'm surprised you haven't had more posts appreciating them?

Proactive posters like yourself, who produce a lot of quality content, raise the standing of G and G.

Agree this kind of interaction on the women’s game is welcome but I would like to see more critical discussion on the overall issues in the ALW.

I was gonna do an article about Canberra and Mariners but their issues seem to be at least semi-solved for now. Maybe I could do one about the importance of clubs having financial stability in general.

I’d like to see positive stuff, as we had head of issues in Aus men’s football, with so many fans being Eurosnobs. They have no interest in Aus men’s football.

I know where you are coming from though. It is probably a good idea to discuss issues in ALW.

You could write an article in Fan View?

Dylan Holmes is leaving Adelaide United ahead of Dub season 2026-27 getting underway to complete the FIFA Masters course after making 115 appearances for the side across nine years of service time which also saw her find the back of the net for them nine times.

ANNA RAZZ ON LOAN TO TOULOUSE!!!!

Great move by her, I know she’ll smash it over there!!! I think it’s the right thing to do as well ahead of the World Cup, she needs to play a lot. She’ll easily prove herself in the Première Ligue.

Annalise Rasmussen loaned out to newly promoted Toulouse FC for the entirety of Premiere Ligue season 2026-27 and should be getting consistent game time at the side heading into a Women's World Cup year.

What’s the FIFA Masters Course?

Not sure if Cornelia Los to Twente has been mentioned. Apologies if so.
Cece Los to Twente from the Melbourne City reserves in NPLW has been mentioned and she has already been registered on their playing list, but it's not known how long she'll be under contract at the side for.

Yeah I mentioned it before. Quite a bizarre move, she was fairly low-profile at City U20 then all of the sudden got a move to the first team at Twente? It’s a bit like when Clara Hoarau went from being a bench player at Glory to a bench player at Fleury. At least she’s a Young Matilda though.

Réunion (where she was born) is a French territory so she probably had an easier pathway being a French citizen (maybe even has family who migrated there like how she migrated to Perth?). I’m gonna take a guess and say that Cece Los has Dutch family (Cornelia is a Dutch name, Los could be of varying origins) and thus has an easier pathway over there.

Problems being ‘semi-solved’ seems to be how the A League operates ( both men’s and women’s).
We are losing so many players, not all are going to better leagues, and we are losing experienced coaches.
Perhaps the problems are coming to a head with the breakdown in negotiations with the PFA over the CBA.
