Looking at ELO theres a big gap between the top 5 and Portugal, but then a big gap between Portugal and 7th best league which for past few yrs has rotated between Netherlands, Austria and Belgian leagues, usually Netherlands though.

Prior to 2022 the Russian and Ukrainian leagues were also vying for the 7th spot.

Rangers would be fantastic if Overy played and we don't lose him to Scotland in the process!

This article also mentions that Man U signed an 18 year old from Spurs, who hasn't played a senior game, for 4 million pounds plus another 4 million pounds in add-ons! Exemplifies the ridiculous state of the transfer market in the EPL.

It’s becoming a lot more common in Spain but Portugal is still quite far ahead because it’s taught more in schools and things are subtitled rather than dubbed (again, all Portuguese dubs for things that aren’t animated kids movies/shows are in Brazilian Portuguese). English is more widely spoken in France and even Italy than Spain.

I find it interesting to compare how well the Spain national team players speak English. Obviously the Williams brothers speak it due to their Ghanaian heritage (they also speak the Twi dialect of Akan natively as well as Basque and Spanish). The ones who play or have played in the Premier League tend to speak English but outside that it’s limited, with even the young Lamine Yamal struggling to speak it. For the women’s team, Jana Fernández speaks possibly better English than any Spaniard I know of.

All these bids are for the same 10 million pounds. I think the conversation is more like -

Other clubs: We will give you 10 million!!!

Finance director: 5 million for us, 5 million for Bayern - subtract 2.5 for the original transfer - subtract 2.5 for Nestory's wages last year - yeah right!!!
 
Irankunda is going to go to Hull. They'll be miserable and panicked all season and then they'll go down leaving Irankunda in a kind of lurch.
