Best overseas leagues for Aussies?

There is an expectation for strikers to press the opposition and thus win- or help to- the ball back high up the pitch.

I'm a big believer of the sum of your parts in regards to a football team. Hiddink absolutely flogged them on the training pitch via Crea which is why Harry was fucked after that tournament however what he also did was instill a belief not seen since and also Socceroos first appearance in 32 years and all that so massive motivation. Arnie probably had less to work with however the players he had knew him from the local and international scene and knew the system plus Arnie's man management skills are excellent. What Popa has done with this chop and change bullshit in a World Cup is undermine the confidence that was built up in the first match. Football isn't all systems,. stats and data but a series of moments where each situation has to be managed carefully. Now we may get through either via 3rd or 2nd however Popa has alot of work to do, sometimes you can be too clever.
 
Not in a particular order but these are the best destinations for A-league players to transition to in Europe/Asia.

We should want the vast majority of our XI playing in 1st division leagues with some development players making their way through 2nd division/Asia.

1st Division Leagues:
  1. Belgian Pro League
  2. Austrian Bundesliga
  3. Danish Superliga
  4. Swiss Super League
  5. Eredivisie
Second Tier Leagues:
  1. The Championship
  2. Budesliga.2
Asia:
  1. J.League
  2. K-league

Not being battle hardened through asia probably made a difference

When stefan symanski wrote his paper seeing how much of a success of a nation u can explain, ome factor was how often the nation plays meaningful international football. If we produce a team as strong on paper as the gg there is every chance the results are better

You get forced deeper and deeper because you never get the chance to come forward. The opposition meanwhile has nothing to fear when you’re going the other way.

It is a question of being able to hold the ball against intense opposition Squeezing pressure, from top teams.

Places where young ones can learn the dark arts from the best there is. Even a six month stint would be an eye opening education for when they might be ready for Europe or Japan.

I remember the Man U chair in the 90s saying something like: 'Manchester United are a merchandise company who also run a football club.'

At the time the revenue from football matches was much less than 50% although I believe the TV money went berserk in the late 90s and I daresay (without looking) that they make more from football than merch now.

about right back in those earlier days.
merch was massive like we never seen before.

I would dearly luv some of our Youth cutting the mustard learning the SthMerican ways !
I don't think they have the metal to survive it imo.....too soft.
