ALM/W TV deal

So, on one thread Midfielder posts a massive improvement with figures from who knows whom is credible and Nomates quotes as such.
For one Peppa out numbers APL again, and is that 54K all games combined I gather ????
I just don't know who or what to believe is credible anymore in todays world but for watching games yourself to see how many seats filled and take a punt.

Midfielder is quoting the Paramount figures, Nomates is quoting the 10 drama figures for one match. How many people know what 10 Drama is ?

Last season almost every game on a Saturday rated, mind you its two games combined viewing figures on FTA 10 bold, This season only 3 games have rated on FTA none of them cracking over 50k compared to last season. /The first FTA game last season got over 250k viewing this season it didn’t even meet the 40k threshold to rate at all. Midfields posted FTA ratings are up %20 on C10 but I call bullshit when the stats say otherwise. From looking at last seasons ratings to now they have dropped %70 on FTA and we are not even midway through the season.
What’s changed?

Increased Paramount + subscriptions and viewership. You watch football - you have the streaming service. FTA is more a case of what's on by habit. i.e. Boxing Day the Melbourne test will be on the TV all day but people will be having leftovers from Christmas Day and be in the pool. There will be interest in the cricket but only a small percentage of those that will in the ratings will actually be watching religiously.

Good grief, Mid, have you no skepticism about the source of the stats? Ten is in desperate trouble. You are in business. There is no rational explanation for the kind of increases they are claiming. I think this is a struggling business trying to talk themselves up. Extraordinary claims, and these really are extraordinary claims from 10, require extraordinary evidence. I do not call taking their word for their own figures extraordinary evidence.

That's the way you see it fine.

We can't trust 10 or Paramount

Someone should do a poll as to whether punters believe we would be better off on Paramount or Stan for the next TV deal.

Saw an interesting post on fb that Foxtel want A-League back. Who knows?

Good news for Australia’s round-ball game. A deal is close between Paramount and the A-Leagues to extend their broadcast rights deal by two more years.

The five-year deal signed in 2021 expires at the end of the current 2025/26 season. A two-year extension would bring the rights into alignment with the current broadcast rights deal the Football Federation of Australia has with Paramount, expiring in 2028. This would present an opportunity for the A-Leagues, Socceroos, Matildas and English Premier League rights to be sold as one package if they wanted, with all expiring at the same time.

On the face of it, it would appear to be a good outcome for all involved, as viewership numbers have risen 48 per cent on the Paramount+ streaming service for the men’s league in 2025-26, according to Paramount.

Of course, it’ll all come down to price. We’ve seen plenty of deals for sports rights look dreadful in hindsight as bill shock sets in.

With former Stan boss Martin Kugeler recently appointed CEO of Football Australia, the ex-broadcasting boss will be well-equipped to make the most of the sport’s broadcasting rights in two years.

Australian Professional Leagues chief executive Steve Rosich declined to comment due to the “live commercial negotiations”. Paramount was contacted for comment.

I bet %100 that it will be a crap deal, 2 more years of a $3m dollar a club strict cap. It also looks like no one else has came to the table wanting ALM. The clubs deserve better but the APL just wont deliver.

Another bet, that you will 100% lose, just like the other daft statements you make.

At this stage either Stan or back on fox/kayo would have been ideal. I literally dont know a single person that has Paramount. Will be a tough slog attracting the casual viewer.

Might sound ideal, but have they actually offered any improved deals.

Paramount have 2.74million subscribers in Australia, Stan has 2.6million and Kayo has 1.7million paid subscribers.

The highest and lowest monthly pricing at Australia’s biggest streaming platforms.

Kayo Sports $45.99 ($29.99)

Stan Sport $42.00 ($32.00)

Netflix $28.99 ($9.99)

Binge $22.00 ($10.00)

HBO Max $21.99 ($11.99)

Disney+ $20.99 ($15.99)

Apple TV $15.99*

Paramount+ $13.99 ($8.99)

BritBox $13.99*

Prime Video $12.98 ($9.99)

* Only one package available. Pricing doesn’t factor in discounts available for paying annually in advance.

Paramount probably has the worst entertainment out of the streaming services imo.

The rest are expensive but they have stuff people want, epl on stan, footy codes on kayo etc.

The other factor is public content. Not a single pub/cafe/restaurant will ever pick up paramount either.

Same here P+ is by far the worst as far as the general entertainment aspect goes and this probably is the reason why a lot of churn occurs when people get it.

I've got it purely for the football - A League and Coppa Italia but there's one or two decent series on it.

The Mobland one was pretty good 👍

This was published last year, and it has more than a single pub/ cafe and restaurant.
