Sounds good for fans but I’m guessing that the APL will go for the highest offer.Channel 9/Stan??
It certainly makes sense because I reckon Nine Entertainment wants more football content, and the A-League needs more exposure. Nine could promote the league better, show more games on free TV, and attract new fans.
At the same time, having local matches alongside overseas football on Stan Sport keeps viewers engaged more. It’s a good fit: Nine grows its general football coverage, and the A-League becomes a bit more visible, relevant, and easier for Aussie Premier League fans to follow...
Maybe im clutching at straws but it sounds plausible?
Its really shit that way isn't it?Had to laugh, a young bloke is getting his debut at the last placed club in the NRL. It's been on every news on TV, it's plastered all over the papers, who knows what else. I wonder what would happen if a young bloke got his debut at WSW. Crickets......
yes - but only some marquee games will be on 9 - most will be on other fta channels The a league could do similar with marque games on 9 and others on Gem or Life or Rush or Go.Well NBL just went to Nine - I don't see a-league going there now for at least a couple of years
I am baffled by the marketing decisions. I mean everytime someone debuts have a commentator interview their parents in the crowd during the game about how proud they are of their boy. Cut to them during pauses like corners or injuries and have their vocals only in a 2 minute interview over the action.Had to laugh, a young bloke is getting his debut at the last placed club in the NRL. I'm guessing that Nine will not even bid now.Sounds good for fans but I’m guessing that the APL will go for the highest offer.
