Alen Stajic speech on Australian football

I like that his comments flowed freely.

It shows deep thought and consideration to list things off the top of his head that are each quality comments in their own right. He did not try to make lists and throw shit in to pad them out - he lives it and feels it.

Good on him.

Yeah I love his passion. I admire him and mauk who speak up about what's going on

I think the time you hear the criticism dial up is when nsw lose to qld

I think elite competition can pop an optimistic bubble and bring criticism because it makes people hungry to get better. If nrl was half as good as 20 yeaes ago who would notice? For better or worse football has so much elite competition in both the champions league, the performance of our exports and our national team.

I suspect if we perform regularly in the acl and have 10 or more getting starts each week in the big 5 and we start qualifying for youth world cups and olympics we start to see a bit of positivity

Then again i live in england where they have all of that and there is a ton of negativity haha

Well said especially mentioning of a code leader being seen and heard !
We have hardly had any FA leader be regular in the media standing up and talking our game up.
JJ did his bit now and then but all too late and gone
The game needs leadership standing up with pride and directives - we’ve been saying this from the sidelines for decades.

This is fantastic.

His comment around "we aren't the biggest sport in the country, far from it" should lay the foundation for change across all levels of the sport.

Realising where the sport is at as a whole should be the cornerstone to all positive change
