Stajcic's speech lobbed a grenade at those within the game who continue to rubbish the league in this country (eg. NSL bitters and Eurosnobs). The time has come to be positive about the A-League. The in-fighting has to stop and has to stop NOW.

For TV ratings, it would be very interesting to know where the TV viewers have gone before we see damnation on the horizon.

Are they following some other sport, watching the generic shite that is being broadcast, watching Peppa Pig, or have they simply stopped being subscription payers.

Have large numbers of football fans been watching the Championship on SBS and will come across to the only Australian football being screened once the final is done? I have been jumping between them myself with interest.

80% sounds like a huge drop - but if we find out what the ten of them are doing instead we have a better picture.

Actually - the stats are exactly what Staj is referring to. The support for the code is basically non-existent. Every article that can bash football does so. The infighting sees pages of this forum alone bloodied with one part of our sport bagging another.

The growth of our sport could be huge if we were one sport supporting ourselves and not undermining and devaluing each other.

All we need is for the community and local flogs to stop being tossers and get behind the one true aleagues!

i would like a "welcome to country" style apology at every A-League game, to all the ex-NSL clubs, and founding football clubs in this country.

Until then, you will not see me at any A-League game.
