you kind of need to be perfect when defending deep playing this style
 
The pundits on Goodwin about defending or not being a left back. He's not being deployed as such. The idea is like at St Pauli where a winger is listed in that position on paper but they should be higher up and a solid back 3 and 2 6's cover.

Okon has been nowhere and too fancy with minimal touches.

the starting xi looked very aggressive, so it surprised me we sat so deep. If you play that xi you need to be more agressive with the press

That's right. It's a very heavy workload where your midfielder work to assist but also need to look at the centre. This is why I think it would be fine eight Devlin and Balard and they cover a lot of ground and have stamina. Okon is slow.

Will Catch up with others comments after the game. main take from me is that once again we don't seem to be able to link through the midfield with our main go forward moments based on long balls that find their target. This seems a game between two reserve grade sides.
 
Popovic would rather instill his system to play as smililar as possible against any opposition. The start was actually fine then we lost our way and submitted.

We ran free against NZ away and that type of play suits us.

Issue is persistent passing to the centre backs and then up the wing to no one and the 6's don't seek to do anything.

Balard goes in search of the ball while the others just stand there.
 
Elder with 2 caps is disgusting. Hope he can put in a shift.
