The Argentina error is his fault and all the would haves and could haves are just an excuse for a shit decision where he should have put his foot through it

Who cares how it started, how it finished was the problem.
Sure it's his fault and the ball needs to be kicked away but why did the situation even have to occur to begin with? The problem is players are so used to quick distribution at club training and it gets so ingrained that the ball is quickly thrown out without thinking only for it to eventually go back to the keeper.

The ball needs to be away from danger and too many teams in the modern game haven't grasped that.

Yeah what happened to him? Went to Villa then went on loan to Barnsley then Port Vale? Neither of those two teams are ones you'd wanna be stuck at if you're chasing Socceroos selection.
He'd conceded the fewest in League One I think. Just playing his trade. Should've gone to a European club instead of Villa.

Popa's whole game plan in every match is to park the bus for 60 minutes and hope they don't score and maybe get a goal on the break.
Crazy how it's gotten us results when we need it. No way this works when we get drawn against the eventual winners at the World Cup.

Ryan wouldn't have even dived. At least Beach did.
When you're that far away is there much of a point? Only if the shooter scuffs it in your direction.

I don't understand the plan with Irankunda. Pick him and then give him fuck all service.

Just like when he plays Boyle all by himself up front. You'd go bananas being a striker under Popa.
A lot of alone hope up top. Hardly any link ups or options. Venezuela have a good spread of the pitch. NZ were way more exposed in the second game to our advantage.

50th in the world and couldn’t qualify in a continent where more than half the teams do by the way.

For me it's better in attack than 2018. What isn't I guess? Yet there is still an issue of risking it by absorbing pressure and inviting chances. We were fortunate in the Japan game.

Where's the ownership by O'Neill? Metcalfe heavily involved. Again we're bloody using Miller as our first choice outlet. Why? He's an MMA fighter!

Goodwin could've tracked for the goal but a wing back isn't normally so deep and that's why a back 3 should cover. Trewin overran that so much.

how was there so much space down that left hand side when we are sitting so deep

goodwin and trewin a bit disfunctional in defense there

Terrible half. Questionable selection, painful tactics, extremely sluggish play. Only Toure has shown some signs of life early on. Barely watchable.

Popovic just confuses me. The winning streak briefly soothed my worries, but his style of play is incredibly tedious and almost cowardly. He’s made the Socceroos even more boring to watch than Arnold did. I don’t think I like him. I fundamentally disagree with his philosophy.

Terrible half…another awful half.
Couldnt press pr Anti press the opposition.

Why cant we play like european teams, japan korea or Iran?

Why every team got 2 days of training and still can pass the ball to one another but we couldn’t. Maybe twe are the only top 50 in the world that couldn’t pass the simple ball.

Interesting how some combinations work well first time and others lack. I like were trying one winger in a wing back role. Second half I'd like a switch with Elder at LWB and Irankunda at RWB.

Should've done it already. Geria off and then put Miller in the back 3.

O'Neill again from the start. That's 13 games under Popovic and I believe the most.

Goodwin surely LWB but I think a bit it adventure and shifting will happen.
Miller has more.
