English Premier League 🦁

I've been particuarly amused this morning by the Arsenal fans calling for high feet against Brobbey - whilst ignoring the fact that Gabriel is trying to take the lad's shirt off him.

It's amazing to think that we'll be relegated next month according to last year's "experts".
Some pundits !
Like Rooney of late since he’s come into it.
Some say how can he be a expert after such a dismal coaching career to date yet he’s just as bad as bloody Neville the way they carry on about players and teams.

Controversy with Liverpool scoring but Robertson ducking but not blocking site or impeding with keeper. What exactly is the law?

It seems to me the position is offside and the duck is enough activity to say it's 'foul' play. Hate the rule and it needs changing.

If it were down the other end, Liverpool would point immediately and shout offside. I think it's the right call.

Have these keepers been taking tips from Maty Ryan? Why are they just rooted to the spot or not diving hard enough for the ball? Absolutely baffling. It's almost as if keepers get beaten and don't have arms two metres long.

The disallowed goal I don’t like it but see the obstruction more than offside.
Donna wouldn’t have saved but beside the point.
Our off season OTT spend and off casting of good players that I don’t agree with has totally upset our apple cart.
How it goes that’s football.
Same happened to city last season you can’t keep on fire forever.
In saying that that was a masterclass by city.
Pep has rebuilt very well and they are in tune that first half was top football despite so many of you saying today’s top games are meh.
The movement the pressing the winning 2nds the creativity was good football.
Doku ripping us one down the flanks was individual brilliance.
He done a Salah in his prime.
I’m backing them to run over arse after that.

Forest Spurs good results

I don't see where the offense was. He wasn't blocking the keeper's movement, he wasn't in his line of sight, the only movement he made was to avoid interfering with play - the keeper dived, he just couldn't reach it. The law says the player must make a move to play the ball - he did everything but.

Bad weekend for Leeds and Burnley - tightening up at the bottom now. West Ham and Forest look like they've woken up.

Wolves are gone, so there's 2 relegation spots left. It's not just the 4 above fighting it out - Fulham and Everton are in the fight too with the way things have been going recently.

Fulham have lost 5 of their last 6, have Sunderland, then Spurs, Man City, and Crystal Palace - before a run of 6-pointers against Burnley, Forest and West Ham. January could be very bad for them.

Crazy that 11 games in and Liverpool have already had more losses (5) than all of last season (4) despite the players they signed!

What I also find staggering is how few English players are consistently scoring. Only 4 English players have scored for than 2 goals from 11 games! Wellbeck (6), Anthony (4), Saka (3), Bowen (3).

I'd laugh like fuck if Wolves go down with Rob Edwards at the helm and Middlesbrough get promoted....

Also how long can Eddie Howe last at Newcastle?

Surely the next high profile manager to go?

Well the platform to date for Boro is promising thats for sure.
Good on Preston so far so good.
My Derby friends are happier for now.
Cheez the Saints are spinning down.
Canaries - to think not long ago were in EPL will be fighting relo by the looks of it.

F u l - Howe surely must be looking over his back by now - they host City next.

Brendan Rodgers would be a good fit at Newcastle. He is used to a club being a football mad city like Liverpool and Glasgow and with all the press focus and he's a better coach than Howe IMO.

His troubles at Celtic are more reltaed the general weakness of rhe league...

Its quite puzzling how his Hoops tenure came to end just of late.
Well never know what the real storeys and sides who's right or not but I agree he has the nouse doing the job.
Putting aside his previous Hoops success he seems to go well for a period then things seem to go backwards.
ie the LFC/Fox's and now Hoops tenure's.
Kind of lacks consistancy - is it backroom management disagreements/missing out on player signings at crictical times ? his management style still suits todays game.
Stevie G back in the day quoted he was a top man on man manager and I have no doubt of that.
He sure would be a good signing by the Toon.

With the money that's behind them, I think the next manager at Newcastle will have won leagues bigger than Scotland. I suspect they have tried the British thing and will go overseas next time out.

As for why it fell apart at Celtic - some manager's lose the changing room, Rodger's lost the board - claimed it was never his fault, and indicated he was never backed... Very similar to the way he behaved at Leicester... He's got a rep for being somewhat arrogant (this is a man who has a portrait of himself on his living room wall).

I think you're right. It's a massive project now they're investing 2-3billion in the stadium rebuild.

But bringing in someone that's won Serie A, La Liga or even Ligue Un will require a large transfer budget to go with the appointment.

I know there's the Premier League spending limits in place but you do get the feeling there's a certain reluctance to push the boat out at Newcastle.

Yer he is a vain bugga that’s for sure.
Ben why I mentioned who are you to believe takes both sides in end.
