The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

Sydney FC women play saturday arvo.

We play sunday arvo in perth.

Let's see if he catches a flight out on saturday night.

Was the clubs chance to shine on the national stage, why have the screwed it up?

Or do they want no part of the potential 2nd division in the future?

Eh, its not too bad, I can watch you thump the Bergers on the couch, go to sleep and then fly to Sydney to watch us thump O-zemp-ic...

Anyway, any tips on getting to the ground from the airport... train the best?
Yea I’d go train, domestic station two stops on the T8 line to wolli creek, then change to the T4 outbound to Carlton. Pretty easy process, no need to buy a ticket, can just tap with your bank card. Just check the indicator board for the transfer coz not every train stops at Carlton, it’s a bit of smaller station

To the moderators of this illustrious forum and by extension thread.

I hereby extend my entreaty, for your consideration, to pardon notorious fellow forum member @Sutherlandbear from the egregious injustice of his banishment from this thread.

I draw the court's attention to the fact that, whilst words have been ... worded and slurs have been ... well slurred... a healthy society is built on the foundations of robust discourse and disagreement. No man, women or child learns a new perspective from the safety of padded cell or the comfort of a cage, but rather whilst weathering the slings and misfortunes of adversity.

I beseech you, wholeheartedly, to allow my client to show remorse and beg upon the mercy of the court that his ability to happily contribute meaningfully to this thread is re-instated.

As an act of contrition, he will be required to sing the praises of the mighty South Melbourne Hellas, no less than once per calendar week.

My kindest regards for your consideration,

Respectfully,
Sir Social Club.

Again, thats just Youtube.
I may live in ignorance, but I thought "ultras" were tossers who went to the football, and are fans of their club, but first and foremost they were after the notoriety of being rebellious and some were after the violence and discord. Face covering a badge of honour and bravery.

Having watched, and loved, ID (Inter District and the 'Shadwell Army' not Willhead Smith and aliens), which was based on Millwall fans and hooliganism - they were passionate fans of their club but the fights and violence were a huge part of it. I consider the most hardcore of the hooligans to be in the sphere of ultras.

Could be wrong...

Hooligans are hooligans, there for the biff. Ultras are a different breed altogether.. or at least began that way..

I would say your last line is the wrong way around... SOme hardcore ultras are hooligans, but ultras can be middle aged blokes sinking beers in the terraces with their mates 40 weekends a year.

Not saying there isnt any violence, there is and in spades, but the club is the "religion" that unites....

The vid link below is rather well done. Now unfortunately there is a bit of a mentality of copycating this around the world and making it all about the "group" and there are many Ultras groups that are "infected" by hooliganism but the real ultras are the poor schlebs that spend every single euro of their paycehck on pyro and tifos and travelling abroad to make their club atmosphere the most intimidating to the "enemy"

Also worth noting some european teams travel to AUS and compete from time to time.

yeah thats why the first sentence is a bit of a mouthful :D
Imo if there is a gap it’s only marginal, games like spirit v Avondale are good indication. And what gap there is imo is probably just part of the natural ebb and flow akin to what you see in Europe with the champions league, you have a decade where Spanish teams are strong, a team where English teams seem to dominate, not sure if there’s a definitive reason why.

Marconi v Heidelberg will be an interesting one. Would have been Better last year when Marconi had temelkovski and costanzo
