Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

Neither of them impress me but we had to move quickly so it makes sense.

Messourouni needs to keep his nose out of the football side of things and that also means his son needs to move on to a state league club.

Paperstergiadis is the president of the Greek community of Melbourne and i feel like someone with that position shouldnt be involved at such a high level in club land, his position should see him be neutral to all Greek clubs, he probably has contacts but its not like he has used his status to bring more Greeks through the gates.

Maybe a different agenda to Maikousis?? Do you see the same relationship with Cvetkovski at Preston?

Any dealings with Preston will probably be palmed off to Ashley Maikoussis.

That kinda branches out from the point i made yesterday, the primary role that the president of the Greek community has is to further the Greek agenda, that includes the Macedonia issue. That could make certain things awkward.

Pretty sure David and Nick are mates outside of football, don't know how that extends to his cousin Bill or to Andrew though. In general there is certainly a working relationship between the clubs these past few seasons.

We have not seen signs of a major conflict of interest based on his current positions thus far to be fair. The club role has remained somewhat seperate and having it tied to the greek comm is beneficial for us overall and we should utilise to the the maximum it affords us.
 
Is it me or am I not seeing a buzz about the Sydney Olympic game? I've heard more chatter about the Australia Cup final unfortunately.

If its sold out, why is Newcastle giving away free tickets and free buses to the game?

As for us pre-selling anyty tickets... I have NO idea whatsoever... sick of worrying about it to be honest, Ill just turn up and whatever plays out plays out...

When i had a look yesterday they had ticket sales for partially restricted and fully restricted view, it looked like seats. I had no idea any part of lakeside you cant see, unless they were for like the front row blocked by the benches or something, but they are gone now.

Im going to get tickets on the night for our game. If our club was smart we should pretend like tickets are selling fast to create demand, yet again the only time we did this was for the away game at Preston lol

I wonder if they take down the Discus/javelin net... coz that really the only spot with poor viewing.

If this is true the club should come out and let it be known on all social media channels. It gets people talking, it creates a buzz, more importantly it creates demand. Say we have legitimately pre sold 3,000 up to now that would get me purchasing tickets online right now as thats close to one grandstand taken care of.

Keeping one eye on the weather as well, the elements better not fuck us over for yet another big game.
