CAF WC 26 Qualifying

Vital win for Madagascar. Can only hope Ghana slip up.

South Africa lead Nigeria 1:0 which would secure their spot at the WC. Rwanda won their game today so it adds even more pressure on Nigeria who at this rate may not even have enough points for a 2md placed playoff.

DR Congo lead Senegal 2:0 and lead the group by 4 points.

Fark Senegal fight back to lead 3:2 against DR Congo. Nigeria South Africa ends a draw leaving the latter 6 points ahead with 6 goals better over Nigeria and Rwanda while Benin still play Lesotho with the three aforementioned teams currently equal on 11 points.

Cape Verde will be going to the world cup as they're 4 points ahead with 2 games left and host Eswatini next.

Looking at the 2nd placed rankings Nigeria are well and truly fucked. They can get 17 points but the rest are already on 16 with 2 games left.

Gabon are surely going to be one of the playoff teams.

I watched the Sth African v Nigeria game, They don't use VAR over there and if they did it would have cancelled Nigeria's goal for hand ball.

South Africa facing FIFA probe after playing an ineligible player (Teboho Mokoena player in question due to accumulation yellow cards) after FIFA World Cup qualifier on March 21st if found guilty (would turn into a 3-0 loss after they won 2-0 on the night) they will lose top spot in their group to Benin on goal difference.

These sorts of things are so ridiculous to me. At that level, CAF should be aware of who is suspended or not, and just not allow the player to play.

Oh FFS Nigeria in a massive hole and they may get a chance due to South Africa's issue. Benin and Rwanda still massively in the hunt too.

These sorts of things are so ridiculous to me. At that level, CAF should be aware of who is suspended or not, and just not allow the player to play.
How on earth this ever happens I don't know. Squads and documentation should be thoroughly checked before matches.

South Africa are still in a decent position with winnable games to come. It's in their hands.

This is why its possibly very costly atm,

If the ineligible player hadn't been against lowly Lesotho there would've been a shake up.

I'll have to look again but 6 points and 17 in total may not be enough for Nigeria on the 2nd placed table.

Benin Rwanda ending in a draw plays out for the others. Benin winning would put them in a very good spot

Cape Verde needn't worry as they play Eswatini in the last game. They came back to draw 3:3 in Libya while Cameroon won but still have a 2 point lead. They're on the cusp of a debut world cup.
